i skint a moose once.

Motile, it gives you wings?

>Vonbrucken

yes. i like to use it on small simple things (like a little drumloop plus a simple mono synth) to make them big and complexical. :D

Post

Finally got a proper chance to play with this and for the first 30 minutes or so I couldn't get my head around it at all. :?

It all seemed out of control - I felt a bit like a lion tamer whipping the controls into order.

As LiquidClear said this thing is deep. It's really easy to make gonzo sounds, subtlety however took me a bit longer.

Nice work Jack.

It's one of those effects where I can just put a simple drum & synth loop on and then pay around with the settings for ages without getting bored. The effect as a video game. It's a pity that the effects overlap where they meet in the display and don't bounce off each other, that's about the only thing I can think of to improve this much.

One thing to mention is that presets created in the demo version won't load in the full version. You have to edit the preset data to get it to work - different IDs (MOTL & MOTD).

Cheers

Steve

I believe there is some sort of weird planetary alignment happpening here...I don't claim to fully understand it, but between ugo's ironhead/tunguska, dover's bag of madness and now this little monster...these are at least three of the seven signs of the apocalypse, yes??? :scared: ....
...or maybe just another bunch of things that will prevent me from ever going to bed again... :P
Jeez, Jack!...this is top of the short list...wow..still not spent enough time to grok the statistical density of Motile, but I know when something has the potential to accelerate tooth decay...and remove small rodents. Motile = :hihi: 8)

...and who knows what the developers challenge is about to unleash upon us! :hyper: :help:

Well I suppose that Jack's, Ugo's and Dover's offering could together constitute the rapture - we may be in trouble :)

Indeed, Motile will seem overwhelming at first. However, as soon as one realizes the redundancy that is the control scheme, eight times over... you will find you only have to learn one FX type's controls to know them all. :) The FX Cycle system is easy to use too, once you realize what it does. Of course, the full version comes with the extremely detailed fully documented HTML-ized user manual, which should solve any qualms present. And even the demo is fully tool-tipped. "The effect as a video game." = I get what you're saying, and I think that could be actually a new idea... perhaps hard to implement in SynthEdit though. :( As for Transvector Icons bouncing off eachother, that would be a severe pain, if not impossible, to produce in SynthEdit, though I agree that would be very swoo indeed. Thanks for the excellent feedback!

>BlortBlort

The apocalypse has been in full swing for at least two years now, where've you been? I have to say that even I am still learning the "statistical density" of Motile, and FX Lord for that matter. Not to self-fellate, I don't mean it like that. There's just a lot of possibilities indeed.

Good feedback so far guys, I appreciate it. :D

Post

this is so good :) i showed some rl friends who are in a country rock band and they said they might buy it for the vocals hahaha

Post

OK, so I managed to try the demo out after the DC storm... when I first read about motile I thought it would be a subset of FXLord with a twist, but it's definitely more than that and I'd even say that they compliment each other rather nicely. Just loading it and being welcomed by the first preset blinking at you and moving all over the place is quite a revelation. Now it's begging me to mate with ugo's ironhead and a couple dozen joysticks
Grrreat stuff Jack.. another novuzeit plug, another step forward... I'll have to get this mofo sooner or later.

Oh, and bump.
The mind boggles.

demoed, liked lots, bought, have tons of ideas i want to try with this plug already :)

>dubbyah

Though I never necessarily envisioned Motile being used somehow in a country rock song... if that becomes the case than that is rather awesome. :hihi:

>Juanjo

I'm glad you weren't overwhelmed by the first patch in the demo presets. It seems quite a few people are at a loss as to how to control Motile, but if they take the time to explore the GUI labels, tool-tips, and parameter redundancy, I think the picture will click soon enough in their minds. There is a full-sized HTML-ized user manual included with the buyware version of Motile.

>lavoll

I seriously appreciate your financial support. There's no other incentive like that to push a dev to want to keep developing new products. :)

For the rec, right now I'm working on an updated version of The Hands Of Darkness; better GUI, less CPU usage, new features, and general enhancements (like MIDI CC support etc.).

Good things coming, but for now, more Motile, arh!
