I wouldn't hold my breath for any concord about compatibility. It was a bloody miracle everyone accepted the midi format uniformly. I'm still a bit surprised that VST has become the norm...not for the likes of Cakewalk trying to keep hold of a diferent format.

Music companies cooperating. A bit like blowjobs. f**king great when it happens, but usually you're left to your own left hand (or right, depending). What should be a wondrous sharing experience tends to end up a solitary affair more often than not. :?

blowjobs suck anyway.

It included high *AND* low cut filter, totally independent left/right delay lines that went by tempo, and it's free. I couldn't find anything else like it at the time I got it. Granted, I haven't gone looking again. I didn't want/need anything fancy with LFO's strong 'character' filters, or lots of other features that suck up CPU for something that I wanted that was so simple.

If I have overlooked a delay that does this well, and not a lot of extra fluff, PLEASE by all means, point one out to me. Trust me, it won't hurt my feelings. ;)

Simple music philosophy - Those who can, make music. Those who can't, make excuses.

hm...not easy. some have too much features, some too little...first that came to mind though
was bionic delay, which is a stereo version of logics tape delay. a bit simpler than thins one, but the next ones i could think of would all be much more complex, thus not falling into the ever popular "simple dirty little helper" category like this one (bionic delay OTOH clearly does though, as does its mono version "analogic delay")

low and high pass filters on a delay line does sound nice - decent looking interface too

just bought ohmboyz so it's too late for me ......

PS what is hanafih's issue here ?
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

I'm laughing so much I can't type straight.

How's the spin on Cubase 4?

The bullshit nulling test indicates the fanboys are in for a rough ride with this one.

Is it true you have to refresh the dongle four times a year. I can't wait for the "Well really, I've always wanted to update my dongle four times a year" torrent of mindless drivel. Yumm. Don't you just love melonhead?

well as a fanboy you seem to be loving it - or how about anti-fanboy.

you seem to think you have found a load of important issues so you can keep your funny sig relevant - or some other such deluded nonsense (re check the dongle - like whatever)

errr..

except they aren't - but if you need to keep ranting about stuff the internet is the place

enjoy

I was really thinking of buying this hoping for sidechain compression ( I know it will come later) but I think I'll stick with Nuendo while I wait for 64 bit engine to come out and sidechaining.

DEx loss is not a huge one to me, the only ever work with pdc either solo or at the end of a chain of inserts/fx anyhow, so I stopped using them.

Not a huge difference with what I have at the moment really for me to need to upgrade.

Nah then. We've 22 to 1 against that they start saying 'this isn't an SX generation of Cubase, it's a new version, didn't you read the small print?'

We've got 2 to 1 Stag thinks regular crashing is a perfectly acceptable feature.

We've got 33 to 1 they put DX back, dropping to 3 to 1 they start selling a backwards compatble wrapper.

Errr, I'll go 7 to 1 Christian Dettner dies unexpectedly in a voodoo death doll shock horror expose.

And, 64 to 1 anybody is stupid enough to carry on trying to do business with this bunch of Bavarian barrow boys.

Is my poughman's ready yet, Doris?

Still not sure why everyone bashes SX/Nuendo though... I think it's a pretty damn good app, and I can't remember the last time it crashed. I use Nuendo 3 everyday at work.

Shouldn't that be Holsteinian hole boys?

b2t: I'm not missing DX at all. But I feel sorry for those with money invested in DX-only plugins, which I - fortunately - don't have.

I feel bashing in general is getting more and more fashionable. 20 years ago you defined yourself to your peers by the stuff you like - nowadays lots of people seem to define themselves by the hate they share about certain things.
