Hi all,

Just finished another bit of fun. Just posting here in case anyone else might enjoy it. Just the usual flambastic orchestra + modern sounds. Kinda film-soundtrack-like.

And, yes I know, it's too much. :hihi:

Linkaroo, download available. It's called "90FlabbyBeat".

A few notes for plugin-spotters:

Miroslav Philharmonik: Strings, Brass, Woodwinds, Piano
Sonik Synth 2: Synths, drums, and sampled percussion
CSR Room: Drums and synths
CSR Hall: Orchestra and synths
(unknown): Intro drums
Discord2: Weird synth bell pitch shifting at 5:03
RetroBand: Too-big rock toms at 6:31 and Piano
Ohmygod: Synth comb filtering beginning at 3:55
T-RackS: Master bus
Magneto: Master bus
Grungelizer: Background hiss :hihi:

Enjoy loud! 8)

-Kim.

Holy crap!!! :-o :o :-o :o :-o :o

So that's what an expensive pile of samples sounds like in the hands of a master!

:hail:

You have got to be kidding me.

People, if you ever download anything from MySpace you have got to listen to this! A tad maestoso, perhaps?

That breakdown right before 5:00... omfg that made me laugh.

Need a vocalist?
What the hell, is this my day for finding songs I want to sing over or what?

Seriously, wtf are you doing posting this on myspace?
This is better than the majority of "soundtrack" music I've heard in movies   Madman, I tell you. I think you're just showing off, Jeez. Bravo.

Post

I know this is on myspace but c'mon... isn't this recommendation enough?!

Lol, can you tell I like it, Jeez?

Post

Wow, tough crowd.

Is it really the MySpace stigma?

-Kim.

Very soundtrackish. Stringz sound great.
I'd work on making the beat a little more on the exciting side.
Good stuff 8)

:?

Perhaps I lay a curse upon whatever unique musicians I am enthusiastic for. I'll call it the "runagate jinx"

I personally hate Myspace, and avoid it at all costs. ;) However you write some great music, so I could make an exception for you. But seriously, Myspace sucks. :D

Post

Argle, glad someone else bit the bullet.
Myspace, though is use it to store stuff and comminucate with my far-flung friends, does suck,
but Kim/Jeez is definitely worth it.

In fact, this particular song is at least vaguely reminiscent of the orchestral song you recently made inasmuch as they're not the normal fare around here.

Luckily, Kim has the "download" option on his page :)

in spite of runagate's enthusiasm I decided to take a listen anyway :hihi:
glad I did, some really nice stuff in and out of this 7+ minute track.
The squelchy bass nearly made me quit listening, but after three minutes things started getting pretty interesting and I didn't notice it quite as much.
It's a stretch to my mind trying to write a 3 minute pop song; I can scarcely imagine the work that goes into doing something like this. :tu:

Glad you got past those flabby drums at the start! The piece is not really about them at all - they're just a starting point. This is actually number three (all three are on my MySpace page at the moment) of a series of 87 sonatas I'm working on.

It's just an ongoing side project inbetween my main album I'm working on, the three other albums to follow it, and the two or three film projects I've got on at the moment.

And all that's only going on inbetween working 9-5 weekdays in a "real" job. :hihi:

It's not that hard to imagine. This piece only took me about three weeks (two and a bit weekends, really). The piece before it (90DigitalDirt) was finished and posted on the 3rd of September (20 days before 90FlabbyBeat).

Can you tell I don't get out much?

This sounds awesome, fellow IK user. Great mixing of orchestral and electronic elements. This kind of stuff is right up my alley! More plz. :D

I'm still enjoying this song several times a day, especially now that I've got my sound cards working again.

Post

This is excellent - although the production sounds a little muted in a strange way which is hard to put my finger on - the composition and ideas are fantastic
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

Post

It's even better than the youtube video of arke singing a Scorpions tune at karoke!

Post

weekend bump
