I made my order at soundcontrol saturday for my upgrade at a price of 49.99 and it is also the same price at turnkey. But since going back to the soundcontrol site have noticed that right at the top of the page it says that it's only valid for people who purchased sx3 after 28/8/06. Im sure that was'nt there when i made my order, but saying that it say's nothing over at turnkey about only being available to people who bought sx3 after a certain date. Anyone recieved there update from these places at 49.99 having bought sx3 before the above date?

The £49.99 upgrade is a grace period update only if you purchased SX3 after 28/8/06. The normal upgrade price for SX3 to C4 is £129.99.
See here http://www.arbiter.co.uk/steinberg/onli ... grades.htm
I purchased the grace period update from the link above last week and had to send a receipt as proof. Still waiting for it to arrive though
Hope this helps.

Most companies give you a free upgrade to the latest version if you buy in the month before the new version is released. Cubase charges $50? NICE.

It is quite misleading at soundcontrol as the graphic over there has 129 crossed out and 49 put inplace in big bold red letters, and over at turnkey they don't even mention the date of purchase for sx3. Probably get an email from soundcontrol tomorrow asking when i purchased sx3osknows wrote:The £49.99 upgrade is a grace period update only if you purchased SX3 after 28/8/06. damn i kind of figured that it was too good to be true - i'm guessing that they added the bit about purchased after - it defintely was not there on friday
oh well
oh well
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

I ordered my upgrade from Arbiter sx3 to sx4 upgrade £129.99 + £6 post/packing , SX4 won't be released yet for about another 2 weeks if your waiting for your upgrade.

Actually Arbiter began shipping the upgrades already.CANE CREEK wrote:I ordered my upgrade from Arbiter sx3 to sx4 upgrade £129.99 + £6 post/packing , SX4 won't be released yet for about another 2 weeks if your waiting for your upgrade.
griffin - I'd have a good whinge at soundcontrol. Maybe they'll let you have it at that price. I doubt it somehow (you must have known it was too good to be true!), but it's worth a try

Bought this myself from Turnkey and it arrived today. Works fine on my copy of SX3 that was bought over a year ago
£49 much better than £129 I must say
Any one that hasnt upgraded yet they still have a bunch in stock and they are not asking for any proof you qualify for the grace period...

well thats a no brainer not to upgrade at that price even though I am switching to logic in a month or so.
i guess turnkey will have to answer to any problems as it mentions nothing about grace periods.
