Why don't you try it? Edison has been officially released months ago, in the Juice Pack.

i have yet flac codecs but where to put them so fl studio recognise .flac files ?Vonbrucken wrote:we just have to install it ? where to put it ?tony tony chopper wrote:there seems to be a flac ACM codec here. Feel free to test with FL, or point other links. If it works, you'll lave lossless compression in FL. There must be several other lossless wav codecs.

I'm talking about *ACM* codecs. Registered in Windows & used by all wav readers.

Are you saying, by way of the anime, that this is how the Playlist clips work now, or how you want them to work? I take it that's the dream as I've seen by a few other screen grabs MIDI clips sitting down in the automation clips area... oh well, I guess that's a nice reuse of code and puts a visual on the pattern but wouldn't be as workflow handy as the Folder idea.gassle wrote:I would personaly prefer an old playlist idea with folders that someone in the fl forum had suggested, to this pattern clips thing.
This playlist clips are nice for tidying up an old project but still awkward and confusing as the project now splits between patterns and clips and they behave a lot different.
As you can tell I haven't dl'd the latest beta yet.
That image is something I suggested way back in the day (as I'm sure many others have, including the person who made the image)... that folder idea is the bomb, especially if one would be able to work 'Live' with it... please GOL... give use Folders!!

I'd love to see split stereo files, especially since I'll be loading split AIFF files (exported from Metasynth) to use in FLS.jmbriley wrote:Is it not a problem for anyone that Edison only displays one channel of a stereo file? Just asking.

One thing that I've always wondered is why the FL sampler does not have an option to mono the sample. It gets tedious having to do it through an editor or to simply mono the FX slot. Doesn't seem like something that'd be terribly difficult to add either.

I haven't even learned to use FPC or Directwave properly, and now there's Edison and more, new filters, Sytrus is growing a beard, God knows how many new workflow tidbits... I'm just too freakin' short on time. Who will boohoo with me?

edison is unique in that it is a VST effect plugin itself. audition can't be inserted into mixer tracks, record the ouput chain (generators/effects), edit it using nice spline based automation handles/control points, apply effects, save to wave, drag edited wav from wav display to new empty channel or onto playlistxander wrote:I'm with you guysIldon wrote:I'll boohoo with you. Call me when FL7 comes out. Then I'll see about updating.
I still haven't even figured out how to use the Event Editor -- the last time I tried to use it to control a midi channel program change it was like trying to use a 10 pound sledge hammer to kill a fly -- bloody useless AFAIAC.
And why in the world anyone would choose to use Edison over, say, Audition, or their normal audio editor beats me.![]()
But there's us and then there's a zillion cats wot get all pissy if Gol doesn't release a new version every week. He's in a no-win spot.
Cheers,
Alex
edison is the shit. it's a recorder, editor, player, tweaker, it's about the coolest thing ever. the only flaw i've found with edison is it lacks a simple 'volume' knob. i can adjust the automation for volume lane but that's kind of weird. a simple vol. knob would be nice to control edisons output.
think also that edison loads super fast, almost 0 waiting time, and directly within your host no f**king around. whats not to like?

is the new beta stable? I'm about to start my new songs and I'm not sure if I should use FL 6.08 or the recent beta...

In FL, if you use it, you can adjust Edison's volume with the effect's mix level (on the mixer).grymmjack wrote:a simple vol. knob would be nice to control edisons output.
