I strive to do the same thing with each Tweakbench release.. and Ritual is no different. Create a useful & versatile instrument, with simple controls. Generally trying to not appeal to any one genre or style, so that it will be useful to as many people as possible.

I've tried about half the entries so far and I think Grizzly and Cubix are my favourites, certainly spent the longest with them.

Love Grizzlys mod arrangement, so simple to add a little randomness to a sample.

Cubixs sound is rather nice and the GUI's excellent, that's one cool inhouse style you've got there PM.

Man I'm blown away with the entries, Matryx is big on the learning curve, lunch box makes you want to laugh at the days when drum machines were hard to get and akais were worshiped, pushtech is pushing my sweet girl around, and damn! this is crazy, the big boys are sweating with that small little nasty synthedit made synth made by spacedad, However, I see to many number ones, but the effects and synths should have been in a seperate listing cause that fire thingy is helly fresh, but because of the cult following of them damn akais and that swing stuff bram bros has done it, he saved us about a thousand bucks.
push tech eliminates us from spending $600 on high end EQs, and the list goes on, I'm so happy I'm frustrated, more testing to do, I'll cretiq them all...

so far i've tried 5 plugs

superubbish is way in the lead. i left the planet playin it
tb_ritual is next. it also has a nice grinding sound
triple cheese is cute

nothin much to say about the other 2

Haha, but thanks. Also to XGMode on his spot for me. I'm just starting to download all the plugs myself, I've been on the move ALL day so I get to enjoy the evening with awesomeness.

One thing I'd say to everyone that has tried or plans on trying (hopefully everyone) my Mini-Vyn, is that to get the real magic from this synth you HAVE to push the filter. USE the saturator amp to the max and really PUSH the resonance. There are many subtleties in the instrument, like the fact that when you set the filter to key track, the glide control works on the filter cutoff.

Also a lot of stuff drifts. Basically, I made this not to simulate a particular analog, but to fulfill all the musicians' idea of that romanticized 'organic analog.' I hope you all enjoy it.

Try all three patch banks, in the SFX bank there are some patches that show what I mean by the filter being abused.

Balthor Grand - I like it... a grand piano that you have some control over/Lunchbox Battles (this could be a real capable tool, I hope that as I learn it more I find some way to edit or capture better etc (would like to see additional stuff added on some day)... super cool/Mini-Vyn (havn't tried it yet.. GUI is a bit too big, though it looks nice and clean. I've got a lot of subtractive synths already, will try it later/BuzzRizerFree - this looks really interesting and different, will have to try it later/Drive5 - I've already got enough amp sims to suit me for a while.. both in software and hardware form, so it didn't peak my interest much, though there are many out there who can't get enough of this type of effect./S.A.N.E. FM - Gui doesn't excite me... looks a little basic. But then again, I do love ARCADE sound making synths, might try it later/uLoop - seems like it's gonna take a little bit to figure out, didn't get it to work/Repeatler - tried it out, but my results were pretty messy, will have to play with it a bit more later on... need time to figure it out (and use a keyboard with more octaves)/Pushtec 5A+1 - +points for the gui, havn't tried this yet, not sure why I would need it exactly, sorta looks like an interesting push-pull? sorta eq/Grizzly - yeah this is cool, I agree that the gui is too big... I like the idea of making it smaller, better response and stuff, lot's of drum goodies/Fire - I have livecut and think it's super, fire has an interesting sort of delay-grainy-grandulating sorta thing you can do with it, probably not something I would use all the time, but it has a uniqueness about it/Video VST - Didn't try this but I love the idea.. think I paid $30 for something similar in FL Studio, but Fl Studio only does a few formats.. this only does Mpeg-1... would love for you to add a bunch more types of formats, it would be an absolute must have if you rounded it out more (quicktime, avi, wmv etc.)/Pondular - Very different in nice sort of way, has a marvelous default sound and options to shape that sound with some extraordinary visual feedback, but wouldn't it be nice to have a synth engine underneath? Would be a great effect for other synths or something./Tonespace - installed the .net 2 thing (that was kinda weird)... got it to load in FL Studio.. but couldn't get it to work, this is something I really want to use, will wait for the tutorials or something/Choralozoide - This has a lot of possibilities to take the place of some high priced, auto tune, pitch shifter things.. with added reverb, de-esser and other stuff, a hell of freebee!/Collide and Play - Yeah... this is super fun, and has some great sound possibilites.. something you will record and then go and chop up and mangle to taste, loads of fun, great sound, visuals, uniqueness etc/Rave N Bass - didn't try it, has a lot of options and stuff, probably quite capable in the right hands, but I have a few semi-similar synths like this already/Cubix - Havn't tried this yet, though I'm familiar with some of Psychic Modulation other stuff, it's always quite well done, this looks to have a few extra add-ons and tricks, I'm sure it's a winner/MST VS-1000R - Havn't tried it yet... Looks pretty deep with all the modulation options, plus it's unsual as it uses phase distortion... looks like it might take some work to get the most out of it, but also looks like it has the ability to do some new stuff in a bit of different sort of way than we're used to seeing/EQ22 - Havn't tried it yet, looks basic.. but people are saying it has a bit of different sound than your average eq, perhaps there's some magic to it?/MASB Compressor - havn't tried it yet. Looks like a very nice free compressor, I'm not much of a compressor junky so I'm not sure if I'll try this later or not/Drum Mic Positioner - Havn't tried it... Looks useful/Superubbish - I had some fun with this unique synth, it looks pretty junky, and well, it is, but there's a lot more polish on that junk than you'd think.. it's sorta like garbage art... TRASHY, but you like it at the same time.. much better than I expected.. it's rusted to f**k, but it's a cool piece of junk hehe/Matryx - not a vsti.. I havn't tried it yet... looks to have a lot of neat stuff going on. Looks like it will take a little getting used to learn it the right way, might have to wait for a free day to try it out/Anna - Havn't tried it. Well looks like a killer subtractive synth with a few extra's, will try this a bit later/Sweet Girl EQ78 - havn't tried it... girls nice.. but god is the rest of it ugly, sound is all that matters though.. will try this if people rave about it/Zombie Fungus FX - Havn't tried it yet, or maybe I have... there was an almost identical vst effect posted on Otto Von Schirach's website, it was a glitchy sorta thing, mangled and stuff, I made some cool stuff with it... this looks like it's added extra lfo's and other stuff, not sure if it's built upon what I already had.. will definetly try it later... FSU ='s f**k SHIT UP!! (combine this with Superrubbish and you are bent baby..)/Ritual - Havn't tried it. looks simple, but Tweakbench is known some cool stuff, will give it a go later/Triple Cheese - About to try this... Didn't appeal to me much at first, but the more I read about it, the more interesting it seems it will be... can't wait/Rezon8 - a little bit involved, think reading the manual would help... seems to have a lot of potential for especially if you're looking to resonate.

----Rezon8 reminded me of some of those comb filter resonating whatever Fx ensembles in Reaktor, Rezon8 seemed to use less cpu though, and be free, which is a huge bonus, for those without Reaktor who feel the need to resonate things

----Choralozoide had a somewhat in-that-same-neighborhood kinda vibe too, at least with certain settings.

i've been jamming with lunch box and my hosts. i wish lunch box would stay on top. i wish it it were a vst. however, it seems programming automation would be a pain. i just want it to stay in sync while my hosts hiccup. maybe i should just get live

even as i never really used any piano sounds before..
it really forces me to play piano

so, i can hear these beautiful sounds ..ahhh!
but just for fun..no recording yet

same as i like to play organ for hours - just for fun

Yeah, I'm sure it's not that difficult.. Even though I didn't figure it all out right off the bat, I could still tell that Rezon8 would be thee tool to use if I ever needed resonating effects. Well done GUI as well

Obviously I've rushed through a lot of virtual music tools and toys today and those that take a few moments to fully understand didn't really get much of a chance.

And thank YOU and the other developers for your contributions!!
