I just had an idea for a nice plugin combo to help with quantitative/qualitative measurements. A utility plug that would include a pink noise generator, wave form generator (for the basic waveforms without effects), and a frequency sweep mode.

The other plugin would be something akin to NuGen Audio Visualizer, but would have a full suite of analysis tools: spectrum analyzer, Peak and RMS metering, phase information, soundfield/localization analysis, oscilloscope, and chromatic tuner.

I think that'd be a nice set of 2 plugins for systems analysis and for pedagogical purposes. Any devs interested in developing something like this?

MDA already has one in their bundle: TestTone.
And we have several spectral analysers for free...

I know. I'm not knocking that. I just thought it'd be cool to have everything integrated into one plugin.

I'd rather have a toolbox full with different and good designed tools than one Swiss army knife. The Swiss army knife is full of tools that just don't cut it (pun intended) in practice. Same applies to plugins: you'd better have a choice for each different tool than one-does-all.

My Swiss Army Knife (the Cyber model) is the single most useful tool I own.

Utility plugin?
