I was (and still am) using Audacity as my wave editor. Having some spare time (and a couple of complaints with Audacity) I googled for free wav editors and I stumbled across Wavepad ( http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/masters.html)
Seems like it's really free. You loose some "advanced" functionality after the trial period but the basic features remain. The advanced features are IIRC batch conversion, bookmarking and macro-to-keys assignment.
It has some strange shortcuts (F9 play, Esc stop) but my first impressions were mostly positive. Great integration with Tracktion too.
So anyone's using it? What's your opinion?
PS Audacity's still great!

Yes i use it too. It loads so quick that i have started using it to preview sample cd's and my own library of wav files. After the the trial ends it does start nagging you to buy it but i hope that this will stop soon. I still use soundforge for serious editing though.
