just wanted to add PSP , but also the fx from scarbee could be interesting - there is also a sale the next days.
It has a lot of stuff and also tube amp and so on.
Just a few thoughts.

Antares Tube, if it wouldn't be that expensive.
Freeware I'd say "Baxxpander" from Elogoxa (as saturation tool), then again, that's not really a tube in the first place.

for free harmonic enhancement simply get the Voxengo Overtone EQ and insert it on a track.
Cheers!

Does it impart character without band tweaking, ie just inserted?

Sony inflator for Powercore.
Also, three excellent free ones: Camelcrusher free (excellent, just use the tube stage lightly), Christortion, TLs Saturated Driver.

Antares Tube, possibly the worst plugin Antares ever made, if you're wanting to add some 'tube warmth' to a mix, thats NOT the plugin for you!
PSP seems to have a lot of fans. I'm not keen on the vintage warmer myself, I feel it makes the stereo image a little withdrawn, rather than opening it up.
I'd take bmanic's advice and check out some of the voxengo stuff. More subtle, but more pleasing to my ears.
I demo's the RetroBand too, great idea in principle, but again just a little too rough sounding to really impart a nice smooth warmth to a mix, its too grainy. It's advertised as a distortion plug though so you can't really argue with that!
I still think a good valve warming style plug is possible, just hasn't been coded yet.
