I would appreciate any imput on these 2 reverbs.

I purchased Ozone 3 and am looking at WizooVerb W2

The Ozone3 Reverb seems quite good and am not sure if the Wizooverb would be a compliment or redundancy.

They are quite different in sound though.

I like the dark sound Wizoo creates. Ozone sounds more like a finishing touch sheen/coating although you can use it on anything.

I've downloaded the Wizooverb w2 demo and played around with it.

I go back and forth between thinking it isn't necessary after Ozone 3 reverb.

Any input from another view>

Thanks

Jim

It's not redundant, it's about having the right reverb for the right tasks, more then one reverb is not uncommon amongs engineers/composers.
The wizooverb is about as good as it gets here in virtual world (imho), it has beauty and can be set to sound very transparent and not too thick on the audio, but lite as air and very natural. Izotope reverb is not natural at all but very digital sounding but still can have it's use at times. I don't know your music needs so i can't say for sure you need wizooverb, but i will say it is very different from izotopes reverb and more suitable for different situations in my eyes and according to my work, and i don't see it as redundant.

I own both.
W2 is a convolution reverb as well as an algorithmic reverb. This means you can load your own IR's of which there are thousands available freely on the web as well as several very good inexpensive libraries (SpiritCanyonAudio). My convolution folder is almost 5 Gig. Also you can use any audio file to convolve. It is a very useful way to experiment with sonic atmospheres.
Ozone3 includes a reverb (I fine very useful for percussion) but is a device for mastering. I also use it very much as a track insert 'channel strip'.
No redundancy in having both.

IMO the Ozone reverb is really just a final master verb for giving coherence to the full mix. That's why you won't see long decay times on it. I wouldn't use it in a track context myself. W2 is a flexible, very nice sounding verb that works well for tracking just about any kind of instrument. Two totally different applications.

You can not buy the reverb can you?

Agree with above.
I own W2, and have been demoing O3 for a few weeks (and will be buying). I've used the O3's reverb in one 'master', very subtle and usable without being overkill, haven't tried as a track insert, but I can see where it could work well.
I think W2 shines in many areas, but if you're looking for a Conv.Reverb, its pretty hard to beat W2 for the money (maybe at any price), in addition to its flexibilty, zero latency as an aux. is priceless for me - I now use it in every song now.
Can't go wrong with both(not reduntant) - I picked up a new boxed version of W2 from an authorized dealer on ebay for $108 shipped a few weeks ago - may want to keep an eye out.

The Ozone reverb? No, you can't buy it separately.

To answer an earlier question, I would be using it for Jazz. (Jazz trio mostly)

Probably just Guitar Bass and drums (maybe piano/Organ also if I can comp decent enough on them)

Ozone 3 is without doubt a great mastering tool. (I paid $154.97 at Amazon over the last holiday)

I saw the Wizoo price of $100.00 also----very tempting.

besides the huge price differece, how does Altiverb 5 for XP fit into the mix, any thoughts

A $525.00 reverb unti seems over the top for most people!

To pay 5 times the amount is out of my range anyways.......

WizooVerb seems to be more reasonable considering what you get.

I like the sound of wizooverb better then altoverb and waves ir1. to me it has all the expensive vst convo verbs beat and sounds more natural (and more versatile cause it is algorithm reverb aswell). But it's best you demo altiverb yourself and judge, in the end your final call may be to get both altiverb and wizoo wich would'nt be bad either, it's all on you. My opinion if i had to choose one over the other i'd choose wizooverb over altiverb, price does'nt always mean anything.

...not at that price!

I don't who has over $500.00 to spend on a reverb unit except maybe studios.
