I posted this before, but now it has a cool fretless bass line courtesy of Andy McRory from the Fender Forum.

Andy's line gives it a little Floyd flava in my opinion.
I wish I could improve my fingerpicking to stay in time!

I like that. Simple and effective. Very nice sound, clear and spacious, but as you mentioned, the timing could be better.
I don't know Floyd (I may be the only one on KVR), so I can't comment on that... The bass does sound good, though...

I've got to steal this track for play on the big Bryston system to-nite,
I'll only give it back if I have to

I'm showing my ignorance here: What is the big Bryston system?wavephonic wrote:I've got to steal this track for play on the big Bryston system to-nite,

OK, I just googled - looks like a nice monitoring system.
Please be advised this is about as home recording as you can get.
Mic was my CAD M-177 (pick them up for about $120 on e-bay new) on both the guitar and vocals.
Piano was freebie Splendid soundfont
Reverb was the freeware Ariesverb
Andy had the .mp3 file and he recorded the fretless in garageband and sent me a .wav of it
I recorded and mixed/mastered it in Tracktion; $150 for the full boxed version.
My monitors are a cheapo little fostex sattelite / subwoofer system that I picked up used on e-Bay for $89 I believe. Here's the brochure for them:
http://www.fostex.com/support/pdf/foste ... ochure.pdf
So it may be likely that it will not hold up to a revealing monitoring system - in fact I'm pretty sure of it.
But thanks for the nice comments anyways.
