Also, don't forget the possibilities of using quite conventional effects (phasers, vocoders, bitcrushers, delays, filters, old-fashioned sample slicers), pushing them into places where they weren't meant to go and then modulating the crap out of 'em. There's a certain satisfaction to creatively abusing things into making sounds they weren't meant to rather than just downloading something and choosing from an array of fifty 'mash the crap out of your sound' presets...

It has its downsides too, but it's definitely worth trying.
It's a rave, Lewis!

Too true... :scared:
----The trick is to get a jawb at Geetar Center for 2 weeks, and that will about cover all the N.I. catalog for ya, at the special employee price. They can't be sold/transfered later, but at the prices you get them, it's still a no brainer.

doesnt GC make people work there for a certain length of time (something like 30-60 days) before giving them the employee discounts? at least the one near me used to do that.

it might be easier just to keep pushing motile and your other works of sonic freakiness until you've got the cash up. ;)

----Not sure about that, it'd probably take ya 2 months to get N.I. to mail out the software though, so yeah, better plan on staying there a while I suppose. I didn't actually work there for 2 weeks and get all the N.I. stuff, a friend of mine worked there for a little over a year, and between us we picked up most of it in that time. The prices are way low for employees though, like last list they sent, the most expensive was $75 I believe. The best one was when they were blowing out the 3 plug-in packs for Mac at $49.95, and we were selling them on Ebay for $99 for a couple months :hihi:
