I'm going to say TLS Saturated Driver as well. Even when driven pretty hard, the character of the drive is quite pleasing. I'm working on a track now where I used it to distort the kick and snare and it's just lovely.

Im suprised at the amount of people who dont like Antares Tube.. I think it has some definite uses. I wonder if people expected something else when the demo or bought that plug.. Knowing tubes fairly well, I honestly think it does a very good job, although at $99, I think it is WAAYY overpriced, but I use it and it does a good job
I love Vintage Warmar, but thats more tape saturation than tube, but its worth a mention,
And for certain things I did like THD by Digitalfishphones, I thought that also hit the tube mojo fairly well..

I like Juicy77. I have no idea whether if it's the best or whatever, but it sounds damn good.

Does anyone else notice that tube doesn't work right on stereo tracks?

Voxengo Warmifier or Lampthruster.
I would try Lampthruster first. Warmifier is more subtle intended for mastering.

MAn I keep forgetting that one, even though I own 6 Voxengo plugs. I remember demo'ing that and what a great sounding plug that is. I know some around here dont like simple words describing plugs, but that thing definitly brings some serious "warmth and fatness" to most tracks..PeterL wrote:Voxengo Warmifier or Lampthruster.

The best tube emulation is whatever BONES uses to fool the ladies into thinking he's a man, however briefly.
I think it's made of silicone because it's super-smooth and non-sticky.
