SONAR 5 has clip effects. They are very different to Tracktions... as with the freeze, they took it several steps further in terms of detailed control and functionality. Each audio or MIDI clip actually has its own effect bin attached to it. Very nice.Jason Brian Merrill wrote: samp 6 had clip fx as well according to the feature list

As long as Tracktion sticks to it's paradigm emphasising a simple & elegant workflow & uncluttered workspace i'm sure the update will have some useful features & i will definately want to try it out.
Here's hoping for dualcore support also - a 'must have' nowadays in my opinion.

Netiher do I - I'm only interested in rolling my own. Hence my previous question - can this be done in Tracktion 3, or can you only import loops that are pre-rolled (as is implied in the video)? Time will tell...Jason Brian Merrill wrote:I dont really use standard loops....

"Raw Material Tracktion released 14th November 2002 "

"MAGIX Samplitude Professional v7.0 released 21st December 2002 "

about the same time samplitude 7 came out, which means magix was way ahead when version 6 came out (with clip fx and editing) probably in 2000.
Just to clear up the whole "who got there first" statement.

Tracktion has been a very innovative program though, which has made a big impact on the whole sequencer market IMO.
WHat happens next remains to be seen I think. I hope that Koolkeys is right, and that Laz is wrong (about these being the most significant new features).

My bad. I'm forgetting that Samplitude is on version 8, and going on 9. I was thinking two versions ago. Just my own brain telling me the wrong numbers.
Anyways, I'm not arguing, or criticizing at all. I really didn't know. Also, I don't know if that date is totally accurate for Tracktion, since it had an earlier stage too I believe.
But really, I do like Samplitude. I'm not trying to have any competition. I just really didn't know for sure.

There appears to be some sort of global track at the top of the arranger. One for Markers at least and another which I can't quite make out. The search browser had a markers option as well. No idea how that will work. There is certainly more there. What and how it all works together is what I would like to know...

I want it to be good, but now that I've been using lives automation I really can't go back.
I'm already at a major conundrum being that I've done a good part of a track in tracktion, but I want to now use lives automation... hmm
