i mean i love the fact that the T2 popup filter picker system rules and is speedy by design. lives blows chunks in comparison.

, it's just that i'm in love with T.

it's like watching my prize girl go in for plastic surgery with a bunch of octopii wielding all manners of implements of destruction, even if the octopii are world-class surgeons, odds are something is going to ruin her but good.

i'm especially afraid because, (well is this true even?) jules isn't the guiding hand, and it's his beautiful and near perfect design which i'm in love with.

it is my prayer that the beta testers will protect the essence of tracktion for the good of all the tracktioneers and that yes i realize that new things are coming, which is fine, just so long as the 'essence' of the app remains minimal, tight, fast, and so on.

we all know what we love about it, i just hope that the team can remember all of the positive attributes of tracktion as it goes under the knife for it's next version.

juce is still the framework T is built on though and jules is actively devving that so his hand is still there in some way behind the scenes ...

... who knows ??? maybe mackie have found replacements with the similar attitudes and ideas as jules ???

Jules doesn't code anymore for Tracktion, but he does work constantly on JUCE.

Mackie knows what makes Tracktion sell. It's the workflow. And I doubt they have any intentions on messing that up. Consider them a doctor you can trust!

yeah ... you would hope that the beta team are are at least in part drawn from longtime T users who remember what it was all about at the start and want to see that remain at the core of whatever mackie have planned on top of it ...

will there be any public beta? because that may be a GOOD idea. they have a devout group of users here on KVR that would love to atleast give some feedback and stuff.

i will say this; it's cool of mackie to finally release SOME idea of the next version, and even mention a fuzzy timeline for release. so thank goodness for small favors.

jules hasnt been working actively on T since fairly early on in version 2 IIRC ...

It sucked at first, because Jules was truly a treat to have coding. He was praised the same way that Jorgen and Justin get praised.

But he still works on the coding framework, JUCE. He isn't the coder for the app any more. But Mackie has talented coders. And Tracktion is always built around the most recent version of JUCE.

imo yes. because it is really his good design (not so much the code or the framework) that is the basis or skeletal system of tracktions success.

not sure, since i wasn't around back then, but wasn't T also sort of like eXT and reaper whereas the users had quite a lot of input implemented and ideas were actually put in and such? i thought that was part of the 'magic' of the original tracktion release but don't quote me i'm just trying to remember what i've read when spellunking the deeper depths of KVR for tracktion nuggets.
