Your krogster sounds angry. Too fun. I gotta bend something.

Just a side-note:

My copy of Reed's book just showed up today. I think I may try to get some Circuit-Bending Funding from the parents in honor of my college graduation so I can get a new 'Iron and try to locate a Resistance Wheel before I bend anything further.

I figure from here on, I'll be as professional in my electrical stupidity as possible. :hihi:

whoo, nasty one, thanx.

While I'll knee-deep in the planning and design stages of my next 'bend, I'm also cruising the Information Superhighway for a Variable Resistance Wheel and coming up skint no matter where I look.

Has anyone located one on the 'Net or have a suggestion where to look 'in-real-life'? I've tried a few electronic surplus stores as well as major hardware stores and they've all scratched their heads, grunted and belched a negative response.

yeah. I wouldn't mind having my hands on one myself. worst cast scenario we might be forced to build our own...

Actually, we pretty much are.

GC Waldom dosen't make the 'wheel anymore, but you can get it from Dick Smith in Australia.

The 'new' version of the 'wheel is called a Decade Box, and it's f**king expensive - unless you build your own. Which is what Reed instructed me to do and made this really awesome, interactive flikr page about it.

Clicky.

:hihi:

Didnt get around to bending that guitar yet - I kinda like it as it is...

BUT I did mess with this today :hihi:

The 'Keys' on the bottom right do glitchy things when the thumb 'Pad' on the middle-left is held down. Using your body as the contact... works GREAT with new batteries and wet fingers!
There is a switch on the right side to disable the built-in speaker and I added a jack output.

There is about a million bends on this thing - I just did 5 easy ones but Im off to a boot sale in the morning to find another... there is LOTS of loop points - mucho fun!

Here is an example - TBH it sounds better with fresh batteries - more glitch and less pitch but its an example anyhoo

though this might be an appropriate place to show this: http://www.bigmech.com/misc/c64mods/

That mod galore had me wet my pants several times. All I could think of was that why the heck did they not build them like that in the first place? :-o

And that noise removal trick... genius always seems to present itself as pure simplicity.

that's going to be my next project, besides building a DAW spring reverb rescued from a dead geetar amp.
