I want something I can use as an insert to, for instance, play a whole mixed down track through to really mess with the tempo and pitch right then and there. I want to be able to twist a knob and hear the sound change then (NO offline processing), and I want something with extremely good quality (no artifacts). I've used the Prosoniq Time Factory, quality-wise, for both pitch shifting and time stretching offline...Now I want something that does it in similar or better quality but in realtime.

I have a Creamware Scope system, and I know the STS-5000 sampler does it, but it's just too damn expensive. Any other ideas?

XT2 will have this supposedly.

I would say ableton live, maybe DelayDots pitchworks (free).
After, you might find plugins around which does this, but it depends on your quality exigence level.
Maybe Heizenbox ?
