Cubix is a drumsynth/sampleplayer with an onboard arpeggiated bassline synth. Each drum section has it's own dual X-Fade sequencer section for beat mixing, as well as an Auto-Mix function. Designed with live operation in mind, Cubix can be used for making complex beats on the fly that can be randomized, mixed, matched and manipulated in a number of ways.

Cubix was officially designed for the KvR Developer Challenge, and can be downloaded for free here:

There are several incredible plugins involved in the competition, try them out and dont forget to vote!

Update:
Cubix has been updated (see download link above), fixing the following issues:
-incorrect Hihat sequence mixer MIDI assignment
-bass was still audible when all level sliders were down
-added wavlayer bypass switches
-wavlayers can now load longer samples
-includes a few extra samples

Very 8) and a lot of fun :!:

Jack I want you to know that Cubix got my number one vote. If I could of voted 5 times for it, I would of. But Tuz (big bully) wouldn't let me do that.

You deserve the $1700+ man, if not for this, than for that last synthesizer you made. You know how to make a man jealous. :p

This is a lot of fun. I can't wait to assign controls to it and play around with it in realtime.

Somehow I'm getting more and more into your VST's, and this one is no exception. There really is a lot going on in this one :). Thanks !

I'm still checking out all the competition plugs, but I'm very impressed with Cubix. Great GUI, concept and execution. Definitely a standout.

One question: I wasn't sure how to load new samples--do you just drop them into the appropriate folders in the VST folder, or is there some kind of button or drag and drop option that I'm missing?

Good luck in the competition.

So many plugins, so little time...

Yeah - this is my number 1 vote from the dev contest so far - I just love its "self-containedness"!

Thanks for the nice comments guys :)

just click the small triangular button next to the black box that says "wavfile" and it'll browse your harddrive for wavs. The default location it goes to first is to a 'samples' folder which contains a few provided samples.

Thanks. Nice feature.

I've got to say that because of Cubix, I checked out your site. Although I currently have more VST stuff than I could use in a lifetime, I'm very tempted to pick up your full synth pack. If they're as well thought out as Cubix, they'd definitely be worth getting.

Cheers

Go for it! Aethereal and Arptron are worth it alone, let alone the rest of the cool synths. :D

I don't endorse other devs often, for obvious reasons, but Psychic Modulation is one dev who just doesn't get enough credit for the amount of ass he kicks.

i also voted for you!

Are there midi note numbers associated with the drum sounds, do I have use it within Cubase as a synchronized separate sequencer?

Love the sounds, by the way! Much more musical to my ears than Native Instruments Limelite or Krypt.
