(doesn't work as well as a real anechoic room, though)

the effect is quite subtle but if you have good monitors you can get incredible results!
You're right, I get some incredible results with this! It really tightens the mix and adds clarity to all the instruments!!

850Hz is a really naughty frequency

yeah, it's the muddy part of the generally nasty frequencies around 1khz. imho it should be banned altogether.

har-bal does the job.. sadly stand alone and not vst tho'

you would tend to do it on a complete mix

I know you can do this with a normal eq, but there is a range of frequencies that just don't do us any good. Why not have a way to automatically get rid of them? :)

I propose we introduce a rigorously enforced program of frequency profiling, to identify potential bad frequencies before they have an opportunity to endanger freedom loving democracies, and the U.S. too.

Once potential bad, crazy, and wrongminded frequencies have been targetted, we'll nuke 'em from orbit.

Care to define which frequencies? And where did you get this idea from anyway?

what frequencies do you mean?

if you mean infrasound, different people tend to want to handle it different ways, so it's best the choise is given to them.

what else is there? the brown note?

why don't you just put an eq in your sequencers default template that cuts the brown noten and below 15 hz?

isn't that "automatic" enough? then you never need to touch it again?

oh and dont forget the anechoic room simulator. put that on the master bus, too! preferably in every track as the first effect, too, so the evil frequencies won't create problems in the mixdown stage or confuse the fx.
