Can't hear any difference between the three.

The reason might be that I can't use my RME HDSP with my Macbook, so I'm listening through the computer's own sucky sound interface (through Genelec 1030A + 1092A sub) AND I have REALLY SUCKY room acoustics (can't easily hear 1.5dB EQ change on a track).

Consider changing the title to "Why do Babya synths suck for making trance?"

On a more serious note, there should be an "I don't hear any differemce" or "I don't prefer any particular one" option.

I'm guessing that would win.

Sigh.. JUST VOTE! Do it random if you have to.

This is supposed to be a non-scientific thing anyhow. I want people to use their intuition not anything else. No need to analyse, no need to ponder "hmm.. what has he done?", just vote for the one you feel sounds best.

Just for your information, I'm not trying to prove anything. Well, I was at first (in the pushtec thread) but I realized this could be an interesting learning thing for me. I really do want this little "test" to be as cryptic as it is now. I don't want people to ponder too much nor feel stressed. I just want as many votes as possible, mainly ones that are made based on "feeling/intuition".

This is the best I can do in my situation out here in my hotel...I already mentioned in the other thread I don't hear a significant difference in the DT770/DT880 phones. Well today I converted the files to mp3 using Lame @320bps/CBR and played them on the way to work in my car stereo - I didn't hear enough of a difference to describe it. I even copied them into an editor and made them 4x as long hoping my brain would sense something after a fashion - nothing stuck out...Sorry 'bout that!

My vote would be that they all sound pretty much the same in my consumer type listening conditions...

B, on my Sony MDR V6 headphones, on a linux box with something like a turtle beach santa cruz card. Because I'm far too lazy to actually go into the other room and play it on the studio machine and the good monitors today.

Awesome guys! Keep it going. Believe it or not, this is very interesting information for me. I will reveal to you later why (and I think you might even agree).

Let me stress once more, there really IS a difference but it seems to be a tad bit more subtle than I thought. Anybody with high-end monitoring system listened trough these yet?

Oh and one more thing. I've done some more experimentation on other material and it seems like the choise of sound clip is one of the main reasons for the subtle differences. I'll try to provide a better clip later.

I did the comparison on headphones only (AKG K141), the differences are really subtle for me, but I like C best.

In B and C the higher frequencies seem to be a bit pronounced compared to A, but apart from that C sounds more "open" to me, the stero image seeams a little different for me (broader?) than the others. Hard to describe that stuff with words

I also did ABXing and I could nearly consistently pick the right ones. So the differences are audible for me and I did not kill my hearing until now by visiting metal concerts
