I spotted this on dogsonacid.com

So lets say you need some snares: Type in the following in Google.

(MOD EDIT - got to remove this ... no guarantees it only finds legal samples)

If you're looking for drums delete the snare and replace it with kicks.

Do you get it?

I remember a year or 2 ago people were finding backdoors for sites with poor security this way...

Well this is pathetic. If guarantees with search engines is the criterion, that doesn't leave much, does it?

It's the internet, there are no guarantees. Warez links are one thing, but nuking a google search? :ud:

Post

yea, i don't get why it was removed. did it bypass protected pages somehow?

does the search turn up both legit and stolen samples? isn't this the just a side effect of surfing in general?

so this has the potential of starting someone down the path of thievery? it gives them the choice of good and evil and they might choose evil, therefore to protect them the method is censored?

really, throw me a bone here. what's up?

This is what happens when those with "responsibility" for monitoring the forums are simply let loose without sufficient training -- or something. I could understand it if direct links to sites brimming with illegal samples were being posted, but a search phrase that might or might not result in links to such sites is one reason the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

I'd be willing to accept said search phrase via PM. I think I can be trusted to avoid the seduction of questionable samples. At least I hope I can.

For all I know The sample site sticky in this forum is every bit as potentially infringeing as this one, or in fact any link to any site containing samples.

On the other hand it's kind of sneaking in through the backdoor - it obviously links to hidden directories that aren't really meant for outside parties, so it's trespassing in a sense.

Here I am again, writing an essay, having no opinion of my own... grow a backbone Bonte!!

I think it's upto the websites programmer/security person to makesure this is patched on their sites.. It's a legit form of searching on Google or it would be disabled.. Plus it's not like this query is even a new thing..

Wow, censoring a google search string is SO pathetic. How about moving to China if you like censored google?

Post

just ask google how to search for music files on google, like: http://www.google.com/search?hs=bTb&hl= ... tnG=Search

Post

Although it is not my preferred way of searching for samples, I think the MOD EDIT is wrong! Learning how to use a search engine is not illegal.

Sorry, but MODS please make excuses for your patronizing stupidity

Post

no guarantees if there are only legal sites on the net... Let's censor it all together...

oh well, you cannot be too careful. if a moderator decides it should be removed, then that's his right. That's why he is a moderator and most of us are not. The sad thing is that this thread turned into a whine about moderation now, instead of finding samples.
