So, I'm sure you FL users have ran into the problem of having your .flp files corrupted from system crashes.
I spent so many hours working on this song, and stupid me didn't create a backup. So about 10 minutes ago, my windows crashed (i think it had a virus, other programs were givin me problems) but as usual, the FL file i was working on got corrupted after the crash.
is there ANY way to fix these files? I really dont want to re-do the whole song, I probably don't remember half of how it was put together.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Oh damn, I kinda figured it out.
I didn't know about this feature, but apparantly FL keeps a backup of the last file you saved, in case you screw it up or it becomes corrupted.
It was in ..\Program Files\Image-Line\FL Studio 6\Trash Bin\Backup.flp
It actually works. Thank god.

The diagnostic utility available from the Tech Support forum / Looptalk is capable of repairing corrupt FLP files. I haven't tried it myself though, it's not something I've ever had to do.

Analogue or digital – which is better? There's only one way to find out... FI-I-IGHT!!!

I'd never heard of that, and I've long since gotten in the habit of obsessively saving versions so that I don't have to worry about this.Danny Darko wrote:The diagnostic utility available from the Tech Support forum / Looptalk is capable of repairing corrupt FLP files. But I've seen it come up a lot on KVR so I want this in my post history so I can refer back to it. Thanks Danny. It's a brave person who can wade through Looptalk. You think KVR is full of helmet-wearing short-bus-riders? *shiver* Looptalk

It doesnt work that well. All it allows you to do is remove the use of a smaple/plug from a project incase that's what's holding it up.Danny Darko wrote:The diagnostic utility available from the Tech Support forum / Looptalk is capable of repairing corrupt FLP files.
