Used FL for the past 5 years, released tracks from all sorts of labels to Global Underground to Electronic Elements using that.

On of my close friends and actualy favorite producers Derek Howell uses FL studio and Acid Pro. Hes pretty much done every track he released so far.

FL is such a workhorse.

You can do anything in that beast, sequence, fx, sounds, hell I even do string scores in that without a keyboard. Writing melodies in that thing is such a cynch. To all the naysayers saying its crap, well 30000 records sold using it doens't lie. I'm not bullshitting or bragging. Just sick and tired of having people, that have NO CLUE what they talk about when it pertains to a program they never got into depth to.

James Holden remixed Depeche Mode and New Order using a freeware program called Buzz. All in that program as well...

I seriously cannot believe that this thread isn't meant as sarcasm.

Please won't some mod lock this? I love FL and I really don't need any more step-sequencer 1/8th note poseurs pretending like FL wasn't made explicitly (and all of the workflow centered on) dance tracks. We know this already. You should be able to churn out a dozen songs a day with this app. Give it a rest.

Yea its good for dance, but good for pretty much anything else.

I would agree, but by the expletive before the word 'unwillingness' I sense that you are intending to express a dislike for those who are 'unwilling'.

I've been using one of the majors since the DOS version. I've been using one of the other majors for around 4 years. In the latter, clients tell me the screen and the fingers are a blur.

So in *my* case anyway, it's not ignorance. It *is* unwilling-ness however, whenever I *do* use one of the non-majors. My unwillingness is another word for freedom of choice.

Sometimes, depending on the VIBE of the person asking, I'll tell them that I'm using an ATART 1040ste, using Master Tracks Pro.

It's a qualifying question, and I'm not making music to impress tech-heads, I'm making music for those who love to listen to it.

And *the* George Clinton once told me, it doesn't matter what equipment you use, if you know how to love it like a lady, it'll love you back.

Any tool will do the job when you've got the hang, plus the motivation, talent etc. etc.
Friend of mine had a dual G5 running logic, two 01x's some big arse expensive mon itors, outboard gear & all that.
He started doing tracks downstairs in the living room on his laptop using just reason & he's banging out 4 to the floor bootlegs like wildfire now.

Works on everything, doesn't it.

What? George was using a cliche' on me? Ah well, he *was* pretty high at the time. Actually *extrodinarily* high. So much for that fond memory. I guess I was too starry eyed to see he was shining me on. Still think he's rad though.
