Dying to know how the two compare for a convincing, quality, electric guitar emulation and also playability/ease of use.
The demos for both sound pretty darn good but how is their playability/ease of use?
I believe LPC has more articulations. I believe both have scripts for Kontakt 2.
I'm looking for honest opinions about these products.
I just ordered Bela Media's LD1+2 but it hasn't arrived yet.
I'm wondering if I need to also purchase Prominy LPC clean (to be used w/ a guitar amp) or is LD1+2 good enough for now?
THanks!

?? If you just ordered LD, why not play with that for a while, and see how you like it? Or are you in a rush to spend money now? In which case I still have VSampler and PSP MasterComp for sale !!
.
If you needed clean guitars, LD may not have been the best choice now.

I think you have to spend some time with them to get the most out of them.
I am having a tough time getting a tone I like from LD1 + LD2, but maybe that's just me.

I was looking for a clean guitar to have better control with a guitar amp sim. Ultimately I will be using distortion quite a lot. I believe the distoration in LD1+2 is tempered enough to allow the use of amp sims.M'Snah wrote: If you needed clean guitars, LD may not have been the best choice now.

Have you tried using it with an amp sim?
Also, how do like the playability and Kontakt 2 scripts?

I have used the earlier multis for LD. They are great!kstevege wrote:jeffn1 wrote:I think you have to spend some time with them to get the most out of them.

I have not used the most recent scripting much. I would expect they are excellent too.
Yeah, the only amp sims I have used are Simamalog and some other free ones (though they are very good). When you add that to the fact that am am not knowledgeable about guitar amps, etc., you should take what I say about about getting the right tone with a grain of salt.

I have both LPC and LD 1&2 and I would honestly say they are both worth having since they both offer a lot and in their own way. LPC being the most flexible and LD 1&2 are great for getting parts down and keeping the RAM load lower. I can fit LD 1&2 on my laptop, but no way can I do that with LPC, but LPC is an awesome monster! I would simply say you should get both if you can, it covers a lot of area.

Bitword, do you use LD1/LD2 with and amp sim? I am curious about the tones you have coaxed from it. I would like to find a way to smooth out the distortion sound a little. Perhaps heavier distortion, but smoother.BITWORD wrote:I have both LPC and LD 1&2 and I would honestly say they are both worth having since they both offer a lot and in their own way.
