Hi,

FreeG is pretty much at the point we where aiming right now, but we do take notes on all ideas sent to us, there is a discussion going on about this in the forum on the Sonalksis web site as well.

Thanks.

I hear ya.
So, the list of requests so far is:
1) Mono button
2) Flip Stereo channels
3) Stereo width adjust dial (instead of 1?)
4) Independent panning of L and R channels...

What else do people want?
Maybe we can do a FreeG update, maybe a new plug?

Dave.

soft saturation in the pre gain stage ... !
that would actually make it behave like a gain on an analog channel ... ;)

How about a mid/side monitoring button (would of course play in "mono")? This way in a MS matrix situation one could easily hear the different channels. It would make FreeG a great partner with Voxengo SPAN (a free spectrum analyzer plugin). The buttons could all be 'behind' the mono button, activated with keyboard modifier keys (like SHIFT + click on mono button makes only MID channel active and CTRL + Click would monitor the SIDE channel).

Cheers!

what about putting the buttons and rotary encoders below the meter (like a channel on a mixer) and you can fit more of them beside each other

Actually what I think would be a great idea is:
Model the behaviour and saturation characteristics of different classic hardware consoles/preamps such as Neve, SSL and API, perhaps some old tube stuff, and also some "unique" models based on this space state thingy, and then have a dropdown where you could simply select what kind of desk you would like to mix on today. Shouldn't be that hard to do i guess, after all, it's just simple preamps, it's not like it's eq or anything complicated.

(naah, just messing around a bit with you guys! ;o) )

Saturation, preamp, analog modeling... That's not going to happen. You are contributing ideas for a new sonalksis product not for a update to a freeware plug.

personally i think freeg is better *without* any tonal processors, i mean after all, it is a channel strip meter, and its just about the best there is alreadu.. to me its like trying to make
