I too have been following the developement of this synth for some time. Here is a question to all...As a creator of a work of art...perhaps a song, painting, drawing.etc...generally the creator has created this particular work as he or she sees fit. While other's might think that it should have been created differently, the creator still has the sole right to create this work as They see fit. It is still the vision of the ARTIST that has been now manifested as this particular piece of art. Otherwise it would be SOMEONE ELSE'S vision. Admiral Q has simply created his vision as he see's fit, just as most of you do when you create a song for instance. This is indeed a work of art! Admiral Q HAS been very consistant AND yet considerate of people's questions and concerns though out this developement. Obviously it's not everyone GUI choice but it is the choice of it's creator as he saw his vision. I look forward to trying it out tonight.

Thanks jcn7, well put.
Everyone, I completely respect your differences of opinion, and by all means, chime in with your vote. But all I ask is that you do it ONCE and not pollute this thread with a debate about a product that's already done. It astounds me that some of you seem to think you're my boss, or that I somehow OWE you something.
So please, HAVE your debate, maybe I'll even join in, but start another thread for it. You can have your poll. Go crazy! But I'd like to keep this thread intact for bug reporting and the like, and not full of pages of presumably expert marketers ORDERING me around. None of you are even customers yet. If you want my attention and feel THAT strongly about this product, then that might be a good place to start.
All I ask.

Totc, thank you. And I sent you your key manually. (Blame PayPal for this issue, they have a "sandbox" that supposedly lets you test scripts with pretend money, but it doesn't behave like their real servers do! Very frustrating and embarassing.)
Anyway, don't worry folks, I usually send one out by hand within a few minutes. Or worst case, within 24 hours. And I'll try to ensure this is fixed properly before any of your free weeks expire.
Thanks again Totc, you own the first purchased license of Poly-Ana!

Couldn't help myself. I'd be a moron if I didn't grab this for the current price. I was just about to buy that Sonic Projects OP-X Oberheim Emulation Vsti too....Poly-Ana knocked it down a spot on the list.
Yup, got the key just fine after you sent it.
BTW, sent you a reply mail with some info on an automatic ordering system script...we use it at pro-sounds and it works beautifully. Honestly, I haven't set it up to issue serial numbers or anything like that, so not sure how it would perform under those conditions, but as far as product delivery and management goes, it's #1 in my book.
Peace

Cool. I managed to get Amiga 500 #31 because I was a computer magazine journalist back then. Was always stoked by that.

so wait, if I uninstall it now, can I reinstall a later beta version in the future and be able to use the evaluation then? or is it too late now that I installed it

If you haven't launched your VST host yet, if you haven't got the Authorization message telling you how many days you have left, then you can uninstall and try again later.lilfoodstamp wrote:so wait, if I uninstall it now, can I reinstall a later beta version in the future and be able to use the evaluation then? or is it too late now that I installed it
The countdown starts the first time you load Poly-Ana (and most VST hosts load all plug-ins when they launch, whether they use them or not). NOT at install time.
If you know how to use RegEdit.exe, another way to check is to see if Poly-Ana has been launched is to check if this registry key exists: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Admiral Quality\Poly-Ana
If it's there, then the 7 (actually 8 ) day count-down has started.

Oh, so you launched your host? Check the registry key (in my edit above) to make sure. If you have no HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Admiral Quality\Poly-Ana key, then you're still safe.lilfoodstamp wrote:DAMN! :'(
If not, then I hope you enjoy your evaluation.

Just wondering.. will it ever get any smaller? or could you make a thing like arturia did with moog modular that allows you to view a section at a time or something because I simply cannot fit it on my screen

Damn, I said 'no more synths for a while.'
Right, as if...
But this does sound pretty good in MP3 form. And if ToTC (Frank) likes it, that's good enough for me...
give me a couple of weeks to consolidate some funds, and I'm in.

Well I couldn't resist so I downloaded the demo to my laptop. For $69.00 it's almost a done deal that I will buy this when I get home but............. With that attitude I'm not sure. It's real close to "I'm going to take my toys and go home". Not sure if long term support will be there for this instrument. "Pollute this thread"-"Presumably Expert Marketers" (those are what we call potential customers). Then you want people to buy the product to "Get your Attention" even though you've been told over and over the GUI IS TOO BIG. Don't get me wrong I like the hardware type gui but it's TOO BIG (oooops sorry I said that twice now I'm polluting your thread). You say this product is still in Beta but as quoted in this post you say "a product that's already done". You want this thread kept intact for bug reporting but you seem to be very unreceptive to comments, important comments like the GUI IS TOO BIG for some potential customers to use.AdmiralQuality wrote:Thanks jcn7, well put.

Bottom line for me:
1. Great sounding synth that doesn't really bring any new techniques to the game but does have a very high quality sound.
2. The gui may be unusable even at 1280x800 and cpu demand is quite high at this time
3. A developer that doesn't seem to have the stomach for customer service bringing into question the long term future of this product (will cpu demand ever be lowered or will AQ just quit)
4. I'll probably still buy the God Damn thing just cause I'm a sucker for Virtual Analog.
