Noveltech Audio Character?

Any thing out there for vst like this plug in, i heard it on the demo and sounded great but i don't have powercore, so was wondering if there were any alternatives.

I've always thought that the write-up sounded cool, but what exactly does it do? Based on the demo video, nothing very interesting. Certainly nothing much that careful and fairly simple filtering couldn't do, but I assume it does more than what the video shows.

Character affects both the spectrum and the dynamics, kind of like a compressor and an EQ rolled into one. The closest thing would probably be some sort of dynamic EQ like GlissEQ from Voxengo.

Character sounds impressive, until you match the gain to the unprocessed signal; after that, I've always preferred the latter.
