Maybe your bass groove is too badly pronounced?

Parametric EQing is the answer.

ha! ha!..you got me there, Alek! Ahhh...you know what I mean, though!

I tell you, though, what WOULD make things easier for us "simple-folk" trying to use something like that = would be a nice video or 2 showing how to use it. Alot of us don't have formal backgrounds in music engineering-side of things and learning this stuff as we go + reading a manual is not the same as someone showing you what is possible and how to use a particular tool esp. for something such as these sound-shaping effects.

awhile ago I downloaded your free SPAN plugin...beautiful graphs moving about, but have no idea how to interpret what I'm seeing. I try to make everything flat and it sounds like shit.

Very nice EQ indeed. I have a FS: frequency shift slider that affects all bands.

Yes it will sound like shit because you shouldn't be aiming to make everything flat, if your ears are telling you its shit then it is. I will normally use SPAN if im having a problem locating a noise which I want to cut with an EQ.

Again, im not trying to be a dick but I really can't belive you want presets for this EQ, perhapes you should read up and experiment more with EQ techniques, check out the Mixing Engineers Handbook by Bobby Owsinski.

The starting point for any EQ is totally flat. Presets just give you a false sense of security...

I think this must be a discussion for another thread - you realise that people SELL presets for a living, right?! Therefore, presets have value...?

I personally find the technical part of mixing irritating, so I like to start with a preset, and tweak until I like the sound. There's something wrong with that...? If so, I'd estimate you need to tell 90% of the computer music population, who also aren't as into the technical aspects as you are

Watto people sell presets true - but do you really think a simple one-kob gain VST needs presets? No?

A simple EQ doesnt really need presets - a monster like Sytrus does - people sell presets for big synths not simple EQs

I do not plan to offer frequency changing functionality. But I do plan to include similar sonic features to GlissEQ so you can enjoy Overtone GEQ's sound in GlissEQ.
