Julie Resynth vocal sample set released

I am happy to announce the release of a new sample set, Julie Resynth.
The whole set is based on samples of the voice of Julie Hamelin who is already featured in our current Julie Collections. But this time the samples are resynthesized to create new ones that are playable chromatically across the keyboard. Listen to the example below to have a better idea of the process.
Aah
In most cases, the actual flavor and tone of Julie's voice are preserved in the resynthesized samples within her natural range and the notes outside of it sound good too. To order and listen to more MP3 demos, visit the product page:
http://www.lesproductionszvon.com/julie_resynth.htm
The soundfont is selling for $9.99 US. The Wusikstation and DASHSignature EVE 2 version is $14.99, it also includes the soundfont. Other formats may be available soon. All programs are multi-sampled.
Comments and questions are welcome.

Actually, in all honesty, I didnt like the sound of that patch at all. Resynthesis does add its own very obvious digital artifacts, and I dont think they help here at all.
Please, no offense intended!
I just believe in giving my absolute truest opinion. I wouldnt not have any use for this sample set, and Im actually in the market for some nice choral patches!
Do you have the samples before analysis / resynthesis?
Perhaps it might be an idea to offer them that too?

tee boy, have you had a chance to check out
http://www.lesproductionszvon.com/julies%20page.htm
One of the things I've noticed about zvon's sets is that they play nicely with each other when layered...maybe try
http://www.lesproductionszvon.com/freesounds.htm
to mix and match (maybe) something closer to what you might be looking for. Some nice stuff anyway...
btw I know you are no stranger to things like 'Drums and FX'(vol 1) or 'Drums, FX and Ambience'(Vol 2)
IYTTIW?

No offense taken, it's true that resynthesis adds some digital artifacts as I have stated on the Julie Resynth page: "...when resynthesizing some of the original sound is either lost or transformed". Have you listened to the 2 other Aah demos (Aah 02 and Aah 04) on the sample set page? The artifacts are a lot less pronounced for these two, specially from A2 to B4.
This set is not intended to be a natural sounding choir even though I picked only the cleanest results from my resynthesis experiments and I do like them and think that they have their own use. Note also that the samples are not looped so long sustains are impossible.tee boy wrote: I wouldnt not have any use for this sample set, and Im actually in the market for some nice choral patches!

I do have all the original samples as I recorded them. Most of them, but not the Aahs, are available in the Julie Scats Collection (bobsled gave the link in the previous post). This collection and the 2 Julie Vocal FX volumes are not processed in any way.
I had already considered offering the original Aahs samples but I am still undecided about this.

no offense intended here either,
but I listened to the mp3s and found all of them awful... yet I do own and like the Julie bundle and consequently I came to your site with a 100% positive attitude.
In the past I even often expected to see someday Julie extended with new articulations, more multisamples, but this....
So, there's no way I would ever buy this "resynthesized" stuff, BUT I'd be very interested in the release of the natural Ahh samples !!

I am sorry that you do not like it...glad that you like the bundle though. Of course they are different products, that's why the Julie Resynth set has its own webpage instead of being on Julie's Vocals page. I can understand that someone may like one and not the other.sirbellog wrote:Hi Zvon, zvon wrote: I had already considered offering the original Aahs samples but I am still undecided about this.

My original plan was to release both a chromatic multisampled natural set and a resynthesized set. But the natural set did not work out as expected. New recordings would be needed to make it work as I would like. This is currently impossible for a few reasons. The main one being that Julie is now working full time on her singing career and she's not sure that she wants more samples of her voice in circulation.sirbellog wrote: ...In the past I even often expected to see someday Julie extended with new articulations, more multisamples, but this....

Too bad that Julie Resynth does not interest you but I do like it and it must meet the taste and the needs of other users too as it is my fastest selling set so far.
I will give it further thought and try to find a way to release them that would be satisfactory for both the users and me.sirbellog wrote:BUT I'd be very interested in the release of the natural Ahh samples !!
