I'm using Cubase SX3 with some VST's. I've got a Midiman MidiSport 2x2 (USB) which I use to connect my old synth (Yamaha PSR-230) to my pc.
The problem: When I record MIDI in Cubase, the notes are set too early. I always have to drag the MIDI recordings a bit to the right. I've tried turning off Delay compensation but it didn't make any difference. I had read about problems with emulated drivers in combination with cubase, but my version of cubase shouldn't have that problem and the suggested solutions didn't help. I've also checked MIDI-OX, which seems to be fine, AND I've mailed with someone from Midiman support, who told me that there was nothing wrong with the midisport so I had to look at cubase for the solution. I've also tried using System Timestamp, no difference either (maybe a little, not so sure, but still too early).
My specs; my soundcard is an Audigy 2 ZS which runs on the latest stable release of the kX Drivers (Driver version: 5.10.00.3537). My latency is about 10ms, I can go as low as 2 ms but I want to be sure there are no pops/noise. (PC is P4 2.4ghz / 1gb RAM)
I tried messing around with MIDI and VST settings in Cubase but I couldn't get it right. Can you guys get me in the right direction?
cheers
