Need sampler help

My band is about to buy a hardware sampler, but Im totally new to this.
This is our case:
- Put an already bought akai sample cd with mellotron in tha sampler
- Plug in a keyboard via midi
- Connect the sampler to our PA
- Play nice sounding mellotron

So my question: what di I need for this, what do I not need ... and why?

Sounds like a good solution already. Just pick up a 2nd hand AKAI sampler, either at ebay or at a different site...
