Anna is awesome, but I couldn't figure out if it had midi learn (I'm guessing not). If not, are any of the knobs controllabe via midi CC?

Very often the host allows some kind of midi-learn mechanism for assigning midi CC to any plugin parameter. Check this chapter of the wiki:djresonance wrote:Anna is awesome, but I couldn't figure out if it had midi learn (I'm guessing not). If not, are any of the knobs controllabe via midi CC?

Yes it has, just add a generic remote device and define it. A bit tricky work though, but it's all documented afaik.djresonance wrote:yeah...unfortunately cubase has not wised up and added this feature yet.

Wow thanks! I wasn't aware of that...I knew about generic remote but thought it had something to do with controlling the mixer. I just dug into it and the implementation really sucks compared to ableton but it's better than nothing I suppose
What I'm really waiting for is novation to release cubase 4 drivers for the remote sl so I can make an automap template for it.
BTW, using anna in a track I'm working on and it sounds fantastic! Really good job on this one, has my #1 vote.

uh.. this synth sound pretty good! actually is a bit "heavy" for the CPU, but I can notice it loading or unloading the plugin, not during play (luckyyy
).
Is there any possibility that you will add the capablity of creating custom waveforms (both by drawing them and importing .wav/.sf2)? If yes, some shivering could afflict many "big names"

I might, but that'd be for version 1.5 or 2.0 in that case. I would probably not expect .sf2 though. But user-drawn and loaded wavs aren't hard to add, I'd just have to figure out how exactly I'd want it to work interface wise, and it's not a major issue that we don't have this atm, imho

looking here and there I may say that it would be VERY appreciated, not only by me, but from lot of people
for as I heard on others musicians forum, the priority is "the elegance of the code" (by unclebob58 all right reserved ® :asd:)
I look forward to 1.5 or 2.0 with the custom waveform feats, meanwhile I will enjoy this version. Good luck and thanks for your work

One does get that impresssion...maybe it's the drool marks on the postings to "capablity of creating custom waveforms" topics.The_Cresta wrote:looking here and there I may say that it would be VERY appreciated, not only by me, but from lot of people

FWIW, I don't think user drawable waveforms are _that_ useful. Some sonic palettes are easy to make with them, whilst others basically are out of reach (for instance bellish, fm-ish, synced waveforms etc). A good thing with it however is that it's quick for testing different things out, but it sucks for tweaking the actual waveform. What if you want a wave a little bit duller? Etc. Maybe I haven't fully got what people really use them for
What do you guys think is so great with drawable waveforms? I have another synth lying around here that uses it, but I find that oscillator way less versatile than the ones in Anna if you bring usability into the equation.

since I am not that sort of expert
I may only figure that creating also waveforms give the musician the sensation of really having an unique sound.
May be THAT sound is really terrifing, but he will love it
