I while back, I downloaded a spectacular free drum loop pack called Vinyl REX, or something like that. I can't seem to find it now. Anyway, it is a collection of 99 great .rx2 drum loops. Most of these loops I know from Scratch or Break records. Hopefully someone knows what I am talking about.
I want to know if I can use some of these loops in an album legally.
Sigh... I hate this topic... But... You know...
I can't believe I am asking this question...

The only true answer is printed in the license that came with the library. And if you don't know anymore who created or sold it, and don't know the product name, then you're clutching straws.Jeebs Fat wrote:I want to know if I can use some of these loops in an album legally.
But consider this: what's a sample library worth if it only allows "personal use"? Did you pay less than that? How "big" is the album you're going to release? Will it cause a big enough blip on someone's radar to hunt you down for breach of license?

The pack was free. I found it here.
"How "big" is the album you're going to release?"
Not very big at all. I really shouldn't worry or care.
"Will it cause a big enough blip on someone's radar to hunt you down for breach of license?"
I doubt it. Still I guess I am still curious about it. Breaks sold on vinyl for DJ are free to use right? Then these probably should be.
