I don't know if anybody has mentioned this yet, but the new version of GearBox gives Guitar Port re-amping abilities. When you use the Guitar Port ASIO driver it gives you an additional input bus that has the choice of being totally dry or with amp and stompboxes.

How's the stability of the new driver?cbenci wrote:I don't know if anybody has mentioned this yet, but the new version of GearBox gives Guitar Port re-amping abilities. I've mostly stopped using my TP since I got the firebox, but I still have the TP since I can't seem to sell it. :)

that's good to know, I use xt live so I had that anyhow, but it's good info for those with guitarportcbenci wrote:I don't know if anybody has mentioned this yet, but the new version of GearBox gives Guitar Port re-amping abilities. The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

No one's tried the plugins at 96Khz? I'll ask over at the Line 6 forums.

Is the reamping still as limited as it was with the XT? When I had an XT I was amazed to gind that I had to mute all of the other tracks of a song to reamp one track unless I wanted them all running through amp models. That's useless as far as I can see.

I haven't used re-amping per se, but I did play around with it. I used my soundcard for monitoring and sent just the guitar track back to the xt live and it worked fine...I did it with AA2.0, but as long as you can use different cards for different tracks you should be okay.chrishurley wrote:Is the reamping still as limited as it was with the XT? The re-amping is very rudimentary. As far as I can see you have to play the clean signal back through the GP to make it work.
I have been reamping with GP for ages with the help of my sound card.
I have a Yamaha i88x and play the guitar into input one. I create a channel and send this to output 8. Output 8 is sent to the GP. I bring the GP back into the Yamaha i88x on inputs 3&4. Now if I record inputs 1, 3 & 4, I have a a clean version of my guitar track ready for reamping and a dirty version. If I want to add another cabinet or a new amp, I just play the track again and record inputs 3 & 4 to a new track.
I hope that helps and is as clear as mud.

Yes. I assume this update is just so that it can work with the new hardware Line 6 has just released.A3ntar wrote:Didn't they release Gearbox 2.0 a few months ago?
Gearbox has a tuner.grymmjack wrote:kind of a bummer that the plugin doesn't include a tuner (dunno wtf the logic was removing that part, since the competing plug-ins do have such a feature).
How freakin' awesome is Line 6 Monkey!?! It immediately made me 110% happy with my purchase, even before I's heard anything through it. That initial experience is so important and these guys nailed it.what kind of experiences has everyone else had? it was a seamless install for me. update monkey on it's own, select the gearbox plugin item in monkey, click purchase add-on, buy it, use code in reciept to unlock it, download gearbox v3.0, install, open monkey, activate, enter code, guitarport firmware updated, done.
Yeah, isn't it a f**king shame that a company tries to protect itself from c**ts. Especially when its a hardware company selling you software to use with its hardware.pmwaring wrote:I don't mind dongles but that's just ridiculous. $199 for the plugin, but what did you have to pay for your hardware (dongle). The plugin should be free to existing users.whyterabbyt wrote:You need the hardware, even if you're not using it as an interface...
So why not put your presets in the same order as your set? If you back-up a master copy it won't matter how many presets you need to overwrite.muz wrote:I know you can send incremental changes for Tones but that is no good if you need to press a pedal 9 times to get to the patch you want whilst changing chords!
Its the same, with or without the hardware. Normal Gearbox is very efficient.hibidy wrote:a. I need to know specifically what the cpu usage WITHOUT hardware is.
On my PC I don't even need a soundcard.d. I have podxtlive AND from the way back machine.....guitarport........why the f**k should I care?....on mac you can use either along with any other soundcard......
I got mine because it looks so damned cool! Sure, I justified it by other means but that was just a sham.Lunch Money wrote:I did plenty research and testing before deciding on Line6.
