Hi there,
I'm looking for some samples similar to the ones found in East West Adrenaline (http://www.soundsonline.com/Adrenaline-pr-PSP09.html) For use in a metalish band I play in.
I'm tempted to buy Adrenaline but I would rather have some samples that I can use how I want without using Intakt or Kontakt.
I've found the Big Fish Hybridizer CD's and they seem like they migh be good, does anyone have these? any good?
Anyone else have any other ideas on what sample collections might be useful?
Cheers
Jake

I bought Adrenaline some time ago, but to be honest, I haven't really used it in any tracks.....the sounds basically just sound like industrial/metal acid loops crammed into an Intakt player....but the loops are hard to fit in any kind of mix, and the sound quality isn't really so good, IMHO....and as for the Big Fish CD's, I don't have the Hybridizer discs, but I have a few others....and again, we're talking about pre-made loops and construction kits, more so than any playable instrument samples....

I guess its just a matter of personal tastes, really. Keep in mind that when using loops from Big Fish, or Acid, or whatever...that many other people will be using those same loops. Sure, your arrangement and tempo may be "unique" to you, but your tracks will still sound similar in some degree to those of the hundreds of people who bought those same loop discs. Personally, I find it much more satisfying to create my own songs from scratch, but that is really up to the individual.....

Yeah i see what your saying. Our songwriting flow varies a lot so it is nice to have a few samples to be able to just chuck in when we are jamming or something but I guess I probably have enough of them for now (got sampletank 2 XL). I really need to practice making synths do what I want them to , I love some of these synthy rhythm patterns you hear in stuff like evanescence and lacuna coil. And I probably need to get Camel Space
And learn how to make drum machines sound good.
Synths and drum machines aren't really my home ground being a bassist/guitarist originally.. oh well, time to get learning!

using sample cd's like Big Fish where there are a lot of loops you don't use the loops unless there deep deep in the mix you use the sounds, you cut them up, you shove them in your Mpc whatever, and use the sounds to create your own loops hits etc.
chop up the loops add fx be creative^_-
Synth stuff don't worry about it, all it is automating everything and adding fx.
so say in Sampletank2 take a simple syth sound and create a simple lead line, sounds pretty boring huh, now take that same line and assign a controller to the filter cut offon your midi controller (or whatever) now add delay and reverb in the FX, take another FX and sign that to another midi controller and play that in real time.
not boring anymore^_^
Good Luck!
Take your Guitar and plug that into differnt fx boxes record that and send that to another fx and reverb with delay...

F**k I made this go off topic.
in Adrenalin using Intakt you can take any sound and create your own vibe with it.
you can use each and every loop to tempo, add fx, cut and so on.
So saying I couldn't get this to fix in a mix is not spending enough time with the engine of Adrenaline, Intakt^_-

Yeah, and that Intakt engine sucks, like most of NI's products. Many of the loops, mostly the heavy guitar tracks....sound like they were recorded 'crappy' to begin with, so the only thing the Intakt engine is good for is filtering (and good luck trying to sync up any LFO you might use)...and for distortion, if you're going for that ultra-dirty sound. So yeah, its a bit hard to fit in a mix when the East West samples sound low quality compared to the rest of the material in a track.
