A not terribly scientific test in Live 6

Got an Ableton Live 5 project. Loaded in Live 5.01 it peaks around 78% on the CPU meter. Crackles and cannot play back.
In the Live 6 demo it peaks at around 41% on the CPU meter. Plays back perfectly.
This to me says that the dual-core support for Live 6 offers huge improvements in performance.

I noticed that, too. Also I read reviews in CM, MTM and SOS which all claim that on computers with dual core processors, Live 6 uses less CPU because it has multicore support. Nice!Amberience wrote:Got an Ableton Live 5 project. Loaded in Live 5.01 it peaks around 78% on the CPU meter. Crackles and cannot play back.

Hmmm... does a dual core optimized app make proper use of a quad machine or does it mean more updating of the app?drez wrote:Quadcore next year is going to be really nice
