Orion -- limiting generator outputs to mixer

I've been playing with Orion to get a feel for it, and am mystified as to how to either limit the number of outputs of a generator (VSTi) to the mixer or add a VST effect channel to the existing mixer channels. I found nothing in host help and nothing on the Orion forum. A VSTi with 16 outputs fills the mixer channels, so a VST effect doesn't have a channel.

huh?
Orion creates a new mixer channel for each of the outputs... you cannot run out of mixer channel/strips so long as you have memory to create a new one..
you can right click on the 'insert' box in a mixer channel to add the vst effect to it.. or do the same to one of the send knobs.. depending if you want the effect on the sends or inserts bus...
or maybe I dont understand your question yet.. btw if you go into the generator settings for a VSTi (instrument) you will see "Channels visible in mixer" option where you can select how many you want shown.

I want to chain the VSTi through a VST or VSTs. Just like in energyXT or Chainer. Which way do you suggest I do this in Orion?VitaminD wrote:huh?

oh.. you are thinking of it backwards I believe.. in orion you chain the VST's and insert that into the instrument channel.
select
Insert>FXHolder>MultiFX Control
then switch the multifx control from parallel to serial and insert the effects into each of the 4 slots.. I believe you can chain multiple MultiFX controls together too if you need more than 4 VSTs. when you're done just connect the first multifx control into the Insert of your VSTi that you have loaded and you should be good.
select

Eduardo_b, you have to set the number of output channels of a VSTi by its own settings if the plugin if capable for that. You can only hide channels on the mixer by Orion; to do so click on the 'settings' [gearwheel] icon on the plugin's toolbar, choose 'Generator Settings...', and set 'Channels visible in Mixer'.
