Hi,
I just installed the Cubase 4 update on a clean install of Windows XP. Although all my other plugins appear I can't get Gigapulse to show up on the effects menus, hence I can't add it as an effect either on a track or on the master bus. Note that this is the first time I have installed Gigapulse so there may be something basic I have simply missed.

Initially I installed it to its default setting (D:\Program Files\Tascam\... [ I dual boot] ) and then added this path to the VST 2 plugins path using the Plugin Information Panel. After clicking "Update" the Gigapulse dll appeared in the list of plugins, with the box to the left ticked and everything appearing okay. However it didn't appear on the effects plugin menus anywhere. I was expecting an entry somewhere amongst the "Earlier VST Plugins" items. I tried re-booting but this made no difference.

I uninstalled and tried installing to D:\Steinberg\VSTPlugins as I have Jamstix in there and Cubase 4 picks up the Jamstix audioM8 audio plugin from in there just fine. However I got the same result: though the plugin appears in the Plugin Information Panel it simply doesn't appear in the effects menus.

I then noticed that Gigapulse's plugin category is listed as "Spatial", not "FX|Spatial" in the Plugin information dialog box. It is no doubt this that is causing it to be omitted from the effects menus (for instance the standard panner is also listed as "Spatial" and doesn't show up as a plugin effect either). Does anyone have any idea how you use Gigapulse VST under Cubase??

Any help much appreciated.

I think Gigapulse are only available for GigaStudio as cubase plug only work in cubase !

GigaPulse VST is an independent reverb unit and doesn't need Giga3 for it.

Tried to contact Tascam already, andrew_k? Maybe it's one of "those" VST2.2 plugins that don't work with Cubase 4 and might need an engine update

through my own research/speculation/blackmailing Larry Seyer (maybe not so much the last one) I believe GigaPulse is to recieve a fairly big update soon/ish. Larry Seyer has an Impulse library hes been working on for sometime now for GigaPulse, and has had much of it finished, but has been given the hold from tascam so he can release it with something they have going, which I of course would assume is a GigaPulse update (hopefully they finally enable the surround sound that they promise in the manual!) with GVI just released, I think if this is all correct, we shouldnt have much time to wait  ..but who knows, I could easily know nothing and be completly wrong :)

Thanks everyone for your replies, much appreciated.

I emailed them this morning. Hopefully I will get a reply next week.

Gigapulse VST is a VST SDK 2.3 plugin, but I suspect you are correct about needing an engine update.

Thanks for this Cyrosis, will be interesting to see what eventuates. If it turns out Gigapulse VST simply doesn't work in Cubase 4 Tascam will (hopefully!) be forced to release an update.

Its been over a week and no reply from Tascam support. I tried emailing again yesterday but have to admit I am becoming concerned. Does anyone have any idea how to get Gigapulse VST working under Cubase 4? Any help very much appreciated.

Did you try loading it through another VST, such as EnergyXT or an effect chainer? No idea if it will work.
