Variax? :?:

Post

Oh goody. I was so hoping I'd have to wait even longer to find out how I might be able to get rid of an issue that's been plaguing me for four years! Thank you thank you thank you for allowing me to wait. Again!

Noise reduction? I remember someone had something like that once that allowed you to 'tune' the noise reduction to the frequency of mains hum and cancel it out. Forget who made it, but it was some heavy duty thing used in a recording studio (rack mounted).

New rule: You're not allowed to post a "eureka!" unless you're going to describe in that first post what it is. Teasing it is just mean.

Wrong !
Variax's pickup is not electromagnetic so it would be completely silent at all times.

btw. Noise reduction can work wery well on some guitars/sounds.

What i sometimes do is record a dry signal then apply the excellent Adobe Audition's NR and then use some ampsim and other effects on it.

yeah I kinda did, noise use to be an issue for me but no longer thanx to technology, what little there is when I record my tracks Adobe Audition's noise reduction takes care of flawlessly...;)

edit: I didn't say it I just thought it or said it to myself

I reckon it's one of those new noise-hoovers that hoovers all the noise from your audio signal.

Shame it also hoovered the rock.

back in the day I "hoovered" quite a few rocks....hoovered them right up my nose :hihi:

I can joke about it now because I'm closing in on 15 years since hoovering anything
