Cubase 4 - full of bugs?

logic is full of bugs. so is cubase. realistically, the most bug free stable software is reason.

If any bugs are found in Podium they have equal priority with new features. Any bug is fixed in the very next release (within 2 - 3 weeks). Frits the developer somehow has kept this up for 2 years now. It really is bug free. If you ever did find a bug it would be fixed in the next release anyway. It's easily the most reliable host I have ever used.

Very rare indeed. With a gap free engine and a very nice feature set.

Not as feature heavy as some other applications out there of course but a remarkable effort for one developer.

All good here, not a single crash or error dialogue in 12 days of solid use.
Uses a tad more CPU than SX3 though.

Ah well, at last some good news, they are actually doing the decent(ish) sort of thing by people who go shafted by thier marketing. This from Cutebugs.not:

"For all y'all out there that have plugs that are DirectX only (like me)... And have been feverishly posting in the faint hopes Steinberg might do something about it (like me) I called up Steinberg today at their Sales number to see if I could return the upgrade to C4 I purchased. They sent me over to Tech Support, so just go directly there...

"Basically they asked me which plugs I have that do not have VST support and I told them... and then they asked about third party wrappers and chainers and I told them how they pretty much crash my system unexpectedly. I was put on hold a few times but it appears as if they ARE going to accept the return. Although the only hitch is this: I have to ship out the dongle to have them take the registration off of it. Which is fine with me, since in the meantime I can either use earlier versions (Wavelab) or if not use cracked versions (SX2) while I wait for my dongle.

"Buy hey, I'd rather get my cash back then sit around waitin for something that WON'T happen.

I didn't know they were having any seminars. Are they doing one in Wellington? I could go to the Auckland one, but it depends when...I'm off to Vanuatu at the end of the month for some R&R (and hopefully dodging the cyclones )

Angus said i was wrong about the need of recompling DX, well i believe him more than CW person lurking on Steinberg threads that says the complete opposite, Regarding future incompatibilities wuith VST3 he said he don't know, neither the CW guy, i believe that Steinberg team perhaps differ, perhaps not, one thing i'm sure your opinion it's your opinion and perhaps not of great relevance since you are not a Cubase user, not a developer and remains to be seen if you are the genius you think you are.

Oh btw, Steinberg never supported DXi inside cubase, now Steinberg "alienated" DX a technology that remains the very same from day one... i think it's more suicide than murder.
