Using VST3 presets with VST2-host/synth

Ok, so I've started using Cubase 4 with, as it seems, the only option to save VSTi presets in VST3 format (i.e. they get stored in MediaBay), even from synths that only support VST2. What if I want to share them as fxp/fxb-presets with someone who uses a VST2-host? Or run a VST2-synth standalone (if supported) and be able to load presets created in a Cubase 4 session? Is it at all possible? Anyone knows?
