looks nice, but you're right the white stands out...btw is it just me or is the guitar levitating?...

The thing with those stacked humbuckers is that they actually *are* cancelling out hum.
Which, in theory, is a great thing. Practically it's a great thing too. It's just that they seem to be taking away things in certain parts of the frequency/resonance spectrum that are important for an authentic single coil sound.
In the end, whether you actually need those frequencies is an entirely different matter. Harcore strat/tele sound lovers probably won't get away with anything less than an authentic (real that is) single coil.
Personally, I'm just getting away mighty fine with the Fender noiseless PUs I put into my G&L a while ago (they're stacked humbuckers as well, btw). I even find them to be more suitable for this very guitar - it's sounding rather hard by nature and the noiseless PUs seem to be not as bright as true single coils. So I'm a happy camper. But I think no vintage lover would like my G&L either...

Make sense, man. That's the whole point. When someone says "I like single coils" they aren't talking about the technology per se, they're talking about the sound. The two things are inseperable. I just picked up a Washburn WI66PROG with SD stacked P90s. It's amazing how good they sound and they are tapped as well so I can get a truer single coil sound from them when I so desire.

I just ut P-90s in my Epi sheraton and noise is definitely more of an issue now. My electrical distribution box is about 4 feet from my guitar when I play it, so I have to re arrange my room to fix that...

EXTREMELY familiar. My whole apartment building's distribution box (for phone? for mains? I don't know. It's just a box full of wires that lead into the building) is right outside my window, and my apartment is concrete. The EMI on the inside is bounding around, the EMI leaking in from the outside is bouncing around, and my mains aren't even grounded. In short: I live in EMI hell. And my main guitar has P-90's.
