Cheers reflex. :)

Miguel, re-reading your earlier post, I'm wondering if your problem is slightly different to the one I and the others have. You said:
Miguel Martínez wrote:Everytime I load any program, Sytrus crashs the VST host.
Does this mean you can load Sytrus but it crashes when you are trying to change presets? If that's what is happening, you have a different problem to the rest of us. Just thought I'd ask because it might help reflex to work out what is causing you to still have crashes.

Hello,
When I wrotte "load any program", I wanted to say that when openning Cubase, Kore or Forte, Sytrus crashes the loading action. There was no problem with presets as I can not use Sytrus 2.3.
Regards
Miguel

Post

yup, same problem alright.

did the first beta crash Kore also?

Yes

Ok I see what you mean now. Hope reflex can work out what's wrong for you. :)

I can't offer any clues, but I'd like to confirm that I'm having the same problem. Trying to load the VST dll into energyXT causes the host to terminate.

I noticed that the install process only proceeds to the last screen ("completing installation, etc.") when I DON'T have the DXi option checked. With DXi checked, there's no error message but the VST dll isn't even created in my VST folder. With DXi unchecked, it is created but it still won't work in my host :( .

Maybe related or maybe not: "Uninstall" doesn't do anything. It appears to run but I never get a "Successfully uninstalled" message, and nothing seems to be removed. So that means I can't clear it out to try a clean install.

(I'm using the "official" ver2.3 installer and I'm on WinXP up-to-date on an Athlon X2.)

David, I think so.

Can everyone who's having problems download the latest installer and try it out?

Post

It works! :D Hopefully others will report success as well. Good Job.

I'll download the latest installer and try tonight. I've reverted to the previous version for the moment.

2.3 was crashing FLStudio too btw. I usually use FLStudio as a test of new installs as it's much quicker than with some of the other hosts.

Yes, I assume it would crash in any host. Though I still haven't been able to reproduce it myself.

If anyone can think of anything that makes their systems special, or at least different than mine, feel free to let me know.

For the record, I've tried it on a Pentium 4 (with hyperthreading), Windows XP sp2, Data Execution Prevention off.

Works fine now. :)

Your specs sound similar to mine. The only thing that occasionally causes an issue on my PC is that it's a laptop with ATi Mobility Radeon 9000 graphics using shared memory, could this be anything to do with it?

In theory, it could be anything. Depends on what the others are using.

I'm using an ATI card as well, which oddly enough I wound up using because some of the other cards I had tried were causing trouble. The ATI has been the only one that seems happy with both the graphics plus the music soft.

But there ARE so many variables... who knows.

FLStudio has been the only host really that hasn't given me any issues over the years. All the rest all have their quirks, which is also why I always go to FL first.
