naaah, not hiding; just the reflection in the mirror.

The studio needed an overhaul and different placement of the monitors; I figured why not document it in images. The only downside though is that it momentarily deprives me of making some music as of yet

Oh btw; end-result of this action:

I needed a different placement of the monitors (which for now seems to have worked out perfect) and I needed more room (a new rage of buy craze came over me). I'm quite happy with the results

Might make for a nice music video. You could speed that up a lot with After Effects.

cheers; I'm still seeking an entry into movie-making/creating, but alas sofar the only thing i have is .mov shots (a lot of em) but nothing to make it into video

You can get the After Effects demo at Adobe. It's come down in price a lot lately. It's a bit slow at editing but there's nothing better for assembling stills and short bits, doing effects, timing stuff to music etc. You can assemble the clips with all sorts of programs.
