When i start Soundforge, it freezes when scanning for plugins when it gets to pushtec, if i leave it a few minutes, SF eventually loads, bot PT seems not to be recognised as a valid plugin (it doesn't show up in the list). It works fine in acid and flstudio though, so i have no idea why SF has a problem with it.

I've not done anything for a while, so didn't notice this 'til now.

I have to tell you that both SF and Acid Pro can sometimes be very fussy about plug-ins, and the two products do not seem to handle plugs the same. Usually, for me, SF is better than AP at this, although AP 6.0b seemed to do better than all previous versions. What version of SF are you using? I think the current version, which I use, is 8.0d.Reverse Engineer wrote:I've not done anything for a while, so didn't notice this 'til now.

At least it loads for you. I'm using the last free Reaper (release 0.999) and it just quits out on me when I try to load PushTec.

Never actually used that plug-in, but there was a Betabug plug that stopped AP from loading every time, while SF didn't seem to care.Polite Company wrote:At least it loads for you. I'm using the last free Reaper (release 0.999) and it just quits out on me when I try to load PushTec.

Sorrry for the late reply, i completely forgot i posted this until i opened up SF again there.
Yeah, 8.0d (Build 128) is what i am running.
If this matters any, during the 'hanging' rundll32.exe is present in task manager for the same length of time (i assume this is somehow initiated as part of SF's plug scanning engine?).
anyway, you know i said it worked fine in Acid...well i don't know where i got that idea, for some reason i thought i'd used it in Acid before, but i couldn't have, it doesn't show up in the plug-in list at all.
But i get no errors or hanging when Acid is scanning for plugs (so yeah, SF and Acid must use different methods).
Dagnammit.

If it doesn't show up on the list, it's not recognized (for whatever reason) as a valid VST or VSTi. AP used to hang on stuff, but in 6.x it seems more likely to ignore non-conforming plug-ins. Unless the developer fixes the issue, you apparently won't get to run the plug with SF or AP or both. It is my impression that some hosts are coded to the exact Steinberg spec for VST application and will not tolerate any variation from it.Reverse Engineer wrote:anyway, you know i said it worked fine in Acid...well i don't know where i got that idea, for some reason i thought i'd used it in Acid before, but i couldn't have, it doesn't show up in the plug-in list at all.But i get no errors or hanging when Acid is scanning for plugs (so yeah, SF and Acid must use different methods).
