Something I'd like to share. I've been using this on basslines when I'd like them to sound much thicker. Anyone else try this yet on bass?

Takes some limiting and equing to keep the low frequencies from blowing up your mon- Oh man I should have put this in the first post. I'd recommend doing a group/aux send to alow the original bass to stay unlimited (or un-compressed) also. Get back to me an let me know what you think though.

I'm always delighted when someone finds a use for my stuff that I'd never dreamt of. The best example was (and please excuse any political incorrectness) a young white hip hop guy who used it to thicken his rapping to make it shound more, er... non-white.
But bass? Don'cha lose da punch? I'd imagine that it would be good on "etherial" bass lines, rather than regular moog style and guitar style sounds.
But I'm always happy to be proved wrong.
Bass Clone anyone?

Tell you the truth that is kinda why I used it... If you send it to a group via cubase, and eq out the low response area, the rest fills in the spectrum of the bass, and you still have your low end as well & can limit if you need to. Makes for a great virtual phat multi-osc synth. If you could make artifical oscs that were variable via additive in 4 groups of 8 ....

I also enjoy your "wider boy" tons.

One of my favorites to liven up drums.

I've used Clone Ensemble on lotsa stuff, none finished yet. (someday, maybe)
Wonderful, unique VST effect well-worth the paltry sum charged for it.
My particular favorite use is thickening horn sections.

That's why it's one of my favorites as well. The price is awesome for the effect you get.

I use it on bass, Vanguard alot, and sometimes after I send some vocals through granular. It sounds scary (in the best way possible)!

Still not got around to upgrading to v4 of CE, but can I just mention that the Psycho Toolkit is bloody brilliant for lots of nasty and 'orrible noisy stuff (*). I just wish parameter updates were dynamic rather than only taking effect when you stop changing a control...
And Alien Solo is great as well.

(*) and many other highly interesting purposes.

I definitely agree with you on this one. I listened to that example song more than a few times. As soon as I have the extra cash I will definitely buy this kit.

Now that's going to annoy the hell out of my friendly-rival / arch-nemesys Paul Harvey (aka SpaceBoy 'round here) from Elevayta.
Wider Boy is one of his (along with a collection of other boys).
I've only got one boy - excitable.

Whoops, I thought I posted about this, must've pressed "preview" instead of "submit".

Freeform: I tried this out on a bass synth, and...well...I just don't get it. Mind you, the demo is so crippled, it's hard to say for sure. But I did figure out that you have to send it to an insert in a Group Channel, and all it seemed to do was add a bit of a tail and grumbly artefacts to the bass sound.

Frankly, I'd think I could go way fatter with, say, Clone Ensemble's Bass Chorus and TbT's Octaver plugin and some distortion. I'd be super-curious to hear a sample of your method, though. And Clone Ensemble is a wicked-cool plugin, which I'm going to buy now because a)it's only $25, and b) I need to make my singer sound like he's backed by a large horde on some tracks.

Workaround: have you tried parameter automation?

Anyone Else try using Clone ensemble on basslines? :)
