These were going to be part of something else, but various methodological changes were made and so these one shots were orphaned.
They are here presented free of charge to the world. There are a bunch of mono tom hits, and some stereo china type cymbal hits: http://www.realmusicmedia.com/freesounds.zip
Enjoy.

Thanks, John, look forward to trying these.
A question: why is it that the stuff you sell is all loops (less useful to me), but then you give away all of the multi-sampled instruments (more useful to me)? Not complaining, mind you.

The fact is, that making loops is much easier than making multisampled instruments. With loops you just have to make a recording when you are having a good playing day and edit out the parts that groove. Multi-sampled instruments are much more complex.
But I have actually spent a good deal of time studying the art of making multi-sampled instruments recently, and consequently I have been recording things anew. The one shots that I have been giving away are older, and though they are recorded properly, I wanted to start from scratch.
Yes I agree.Shane Sanders wrote:Do you have the gong samples in a pre-edited state? These seem to have very short tails. Still useful for sure, but much less so for ambient work as they cut off unnaturally.
That is why they are free.
on the other hand, they do work well for faster parts right out of the box, without having to be set up with release times and so on. I have used them in a couple of songs myself. Good fun!
In any case, keep your eye out for lots of this kind of thing in the near future.

Thanks Eric.
But no matter what I give away, I would have a hard time repaying my debt to the freeware community.
