Hi guys,

im planning to get Amplitube2 as an upgrade for my Amplitube1. Now I'm a bit confused by all of these forum parts where I read that Amplitube2 crashes Cubase SX (3), which I am using.

Anybody who can tell how often/bad these crashes appear? Or is there maybe a fix already?

Thanks for your opinions and experiences!!!

I've had no trouble at all with AT2.

My Amplitube 1 used to crash my SX all the time.

Thanks. I've just talked with a pro-user friend of mine. He uses AT2 in Nuendo. Also no crashes and states it being stable. Maybe this is just a rumour with all these crashes?

This probably isn't much help, but I was trying out the AT2 demo over the weekend. I have SX 3, but for some reason the AT2 demo was not showing as a VST in Cubase. So I did all my testing in Sonar 4.

I did note some stability problems when running at 2 milli-seconds of latency. But I can't necessarily blame that on AT2. It could have been Sonar, or my sound card, or the fact that I was running GR2 along side it.

When I bumbed the latency up to 4 ms, I didn't note any stability issues.

Also, I did think that AT2 sounded quite a bit better than my Podxt Pro and a little bit better than GR2.

I ran the AT2 demo for the full trial period with absolutely no problems at all. I'd suggest, like any software, that probably a couple people had some bad compatibility problems, but most have had a normal experience. This is the first I've heard of any major problem with AT2, FWIW.

No problems with AT1 or AT2 (I still use both) in SX3.
As a multiprocess amp/FX emulator, AT2 needs to do a lot of math for some of its more complicated patches. All quality FX units have the same problem. If your computer specs aren't up to scratch, you are going to get limitations no matter what host you use.

from time to time, but if the licenses are stored on the same dongle a lot less, something not to worry about much, only a bit :tu:

I got got Cubase 4 and highly recommend it, you might find it more stable overall.
