I was happy to see that the new voice tweaker was finally released (kinda late IMO).. But then I went to the webpage and saw this..

Tell me this is not the only screen they are using? 1ST OFF THIS IS A TERRIBLE LOOKING GUI.. 2ND off what happened to the grapical editor they had in 3? I was expecting big things from these guys considering the amount of time it took them to come out with this upgrade!...

This is the screen I'm talking about

EDIT

And heres the main GUI

IMO this was the only voicetweaker (besides melodyne) that could give Antares Vocal tune a run for its money..

This is terrible..

i think it's very cute! :)
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Anybody try the new version yet? I'm assuming it has better algos than v3 pro.. Man cant get past the GUI..

I just gave it a bit of a try, and that GUI is crap, IMO; almost unusable, deleted. Is it really the same plug-in? I was wondering that myself.

Are there any similar affordable effects around?

Josmoker.. Yea I mean theres Gsnap (free). The thing is I was waiting on this update for over a year now and then they come out with this thing?

Bduffy.. Is there no graphical editor now?? That was one of the best ones out there. I found it way easier to use than Antares's VT and the detection was much better.. I think RBCaudio must have sold this technology (on the dl) to Pronaut.. Seems kinda toyish now..

Well, that's what I don't get: is this the same company, the same plugin? They seem very different to me.

I didn't see a graphical editor. This seems more suited to vocoder/FSU-type effects than straight-out pitch correction.

I'd never buy anything from RBC Audio. You might never get the bugs fixed if you found any. Their response time for updates is terrible. It's like 5 years between updates.

Exactly.. Oh well I still find version 3 pro to be very useful at high bit rates and clock speeds so I'm cool with that. This version is basically a shadow of the original..

there is anyway no need to update it (if you got v3). meanwhile we have tools like melodyne. and v3 (and the DXi as a harmonizer) still works great if artifacts are desired (and sometimes they are to me).

Post

Oh shit so what your saying is there using the same Algos as V3? Wow even more surprises...

As I said before I can get V3 to work without artifacts (On basic tuning noting extreme).. Yea your right with apps like Melodyne, V4 is looking even worse off than before.. Oh well I guess I will refer to V4 as an up'd version feature downgrade instead! :)

Oh an I contine to put knots in my fingers with finniky GUI of Melodye..

Yeah, I can't get into Melodyne either...that interface! Yuck.

I tried the demo version yesterday in Cubase SX3. It first seemed to freeze Cubase but after a short while Cubase revived (this has probably something to do with the copy protection of VT). When I clicked on the GUI a "serious error" occurred, after which Cubase was unstable. This happened every time I tried to use VT.

However I was able to get some sound out of it, but I wasn't impressed (I am a registered user of VT 3 LT). This could be caused by the GUI (maybe I turned the wrong knobs the wrong way, I haven't spend very much time on it) or the fact that Cubase was unstable, so I am curious how it works for other people/hosts.

Edit: there is a new version up which seems to solve my problem with Caubase.

I had no stability problems trying it out in SX 3. I thought it sucked, but it was stable, AFAICT.
