hi :)

I am looking for a spectrum analyzer vst effect, and it would also be useful if it had a comparison option, so that I can compare to graph to a profesional track ( if this option exists ) . I've seached kvr for something like this already, but I wasnt sure exactly what this would come under (Spectral Processor?).

I'm not too bothered about the price, so long as its good value for money.

thanks in advance for any help :)

It would be listed as "Analyzer".

I recommend Fre(a)koscope, Voxengo's SPAN, and Sonogram SG-1. The former two are line-output analyzers (like a realtime EQ curve, you know what I'm talking about) while the latter is a spectrometer/sonogram output (the kind that shows frequency as height, time as width, and intensity as color).

I'd just run two instances alongside one another, with the audio output muted on the professional track.

If you're after a curve-stealer, though, such plugins do exist. EQUO is the only one I can think of off the top of my head but there are VST ones too...

Voxengo CurveEQ does EQ curve matching, but I suspect you are looking more for a visual comparison tool. You could try running a couple instances of Voxengo GlissEQ, one for the pro track, the other for your material, and use the spectrum export/overlay feature to view both EQ lines together.
